Towson's bulk pickup has limits — we don't
Two County drop-off centers sit inside Towson's commute radius. Central Acceptance Facility on West Warren Road in Cockeysville is about seven miles north, Monday–Saturday 7 a.m.–4 p.m. Eastern Sanitary Landfill on Days Cove Road in White Marsh is about thirteen miles northeast, Monday–Saturday 7:30 a.m.–3:30 p.m., with no admittance after 3:15. Both are free for County residents up to 10 visits per year; after that, materials get billed at $125 per ton. Towson contractors heading to Baltimore City's Quarantine Road Landfill now pay $135 per ton—the City Board of Estimates approved that hike effective November 1, 2025, the first tipping-fee increase since 1993—and concrete, brick, stone, and gravel are not accepted at QRL at all. Meanwhile, the renovation throws off a second pile that does not belong in a dumpster: the furniture you are replacing, the appliance going to the curb, the bagged household clutter from the rooms you are working around. That is the pile we take.
