Get it ready
Keep electronics out of the recycling cart and away from the recycling drop-off sites, where the City and the authority both refuse them. Take the item to the curb with the rest of the refuse, or hold it for a hazardous waste event.
Paint, chemicals, liquids, motor oil, car batteries, propane tanks and other hazardous material never go in a cart, in a refuse bag or at a recycling drop-off site. Take them to a RRRASOC household hazardous waste event, or to the hazardous waste drop-off in Livonia on a weekday.
Use a permitted, accessible outdoor spot. Arrange the move out of your home, keep shared access clear and follow your confirmation’s readiness instructions. Check with your building about access or staging limits before booking.

Contracted curbside collection
Novi households with furniture, mattresses, appliances, electronics, small construction loads, bagged refuse or other bulky household material that meets the published limits.
Cost & conditions
No charge. Novi residential addresses, where the refuse fee billed on the summer and winter tax bills covers trash, recycling, yard waste and bulk item collection. The published program has single family and condominium rates, with no opt out and no seasonal hold.
Arrange it
Set the material out by 7 a.m. on your regular collection day and call Priority Waste at 586-228-1200 as a courtesy so the driver can prepare. Bulk items do not need a booked appointment.
Hazardous material, whole tires, pianos, large car parts, riding lawnmowers and anything outside the container and weight limits is not collected, and the published program and rates are residential rather than commercial.

RRRASOC household hazardous waste and e-waste events
Novi households with televisions, computers, monitors, batteries, motor oil, oil based paint, fluorescent bulbs or other hazardous material that cannot go in a cart.
Cost & conditions
The authority does not publish a fee for household hazardous waste collection events, and the events are limited to residents of the member communities with residency verified. Confirm the current schedule and any charge before loading.
Arrange it
Read the current event schedule, bring proof of Novi residency, and attend on a Saturday between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m. A Novi event at the Department of Public Works on 26300 Lee BeGole Drive was on the published schedule when this guide was checked.
Member community residents only, and commercial, radioactive and explosive material is refused. Household appliances, dehumidifiers and air conditioners are not part of the electronics stream, weekday events are hazardous waste only, and shredding and Simple Recycling run at Saturday events.

The authority publishes walk-in hours for member community residents on non-event days, Monday to Friday 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. in its winter hours, with no fee; the city page adds that a resident who cannot attend a listed event or needs a route in between events can call RRRASOC or Environmental Recycling Group on 734-437-9650 to arrange an appointment, so confirm the current hours, the item and, if going between events, the appointment before loading the vehicle.
Weekday hours only, member community residents only, and commercial waste is refused. Electronics and household appliances are separate streams and go to a household hazardous waste collection event rather than this weekday drop-off, so ask about the exact item and the next event date on 734-437-9650 before loading the vehicle.

Data erasure and certified data destruction are not included in Dropcurb removal. Back up the information you need, then follow the manufacturer’s sign-out and reset instructions before pickup. If a device cannot be erased or contains sensitive business information, arrange suitable data handling before giving it away.
