Treadmill, walking pad or commercial model?
Household treadmill includes folding home models with a tall console. Choose Walking pad for a compact under-desk model, or Commercial treadmill for a large gym machine. All equipment opens those choices.
An exercise bike, elliptical or rower
Spin, upright, recumbent and air bikes all use Exercise bike, including Peloton and other brands. One elliptical includes its connected base, handles and pedals. Rowing machines and Pilates reformers have their own choices.
Weights, racks and benches
Add together the pounds of loose dumbbells, kettlebells, plates and barbells. Free weights are priced in 10 lb units, rounding the combined weight up. For example, 25 lb uses three units. Add a stand, rack or bench separately if it is going too.

Port Huron publishes one bulky item per household each week and no per item fee. Confirm the piece with the contractor before you set it out, because the city also refuses items larger than the collection trucks allow.
When & how
The piece goes out with the regular refuse on your district day between Monday and Thursday. Anything the truck will not take has to be held or hauled to the Smiths Creek Landfill.
Get it ready
Set it at the curb before 7 a.m. on the collection day and no earlier than 4 p.m. the day before, since late set-outs are not repeated. Confirm the piece first if the machine is long or heavy, because the city refuses items larger than the collection trucks handle.
Out after 4 p.m. the day before and before 7 a.m. on collection day
Collection starts at 7 a.m., and everything has to be at the curb before then and no earlier than 4 p.m. of the day before. Emptied containers come in from the street before sundown on the collection day, and the crew does not come back for a late set-out.
One item larger than the container allowance may go out with the refuse each week, and the city names bedding, appliances, furniture, carpet, wood and metal among the examples. Refrigerator doors come off before the unit is set on the boulevard. Anything the crew does not take is tagged with the reason it was left.
Refuse goes on the property side of the curb on paved streets, or between the sidewalk and the roadway edge where the street is unpaved. Recycling and yard waste sit three feet from the refuse set-out, and there are only two designated alleys where collection happens at all.
There is no collection on New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day or Christmas Day. When one of them falls in the week, collection for the rest of that week runs one day late and routes return to schedule the following Monday. The 2026 schedule marks Independence Day and Christmas Day as holidays that fall on a weekend without moving the routes.
