Treadmill, walking pad or commercial model?
Household treadmill includes folding home models with a tall console. Choose Walking pad for a compact under-desk model, or Commercial treadmill for a large gym machine. All equipment opens those choices.
An exercise bike, elliptical or rower
Spin, upright, recumbent and air bikes all use Exercise bike, including Peloton and other brands. One elliptical includes its connected base, handles and pedals. Rowing machines and Pilates reformers have their own choices.
Weights, racks and benches
Add together the pounds of loose dumbbells, kettlebells, plates and barbells. Free weights are priced in 10 lb units, rounding the combined weight up. For example, 25 lb uses three units. Add a stand, rack or bench separately if it is going too.

Exercise machines are refused by the annual recycling drop-off event and are not on the monthly reuse pickup list, so a treadmill or similar machine moves either through the even-year Curbside Cleanup or through an on-call bulky pickup that the city quotes.

Curbside Cleanup collects treadmills with no separate charge for households that pay the Bulky Item Management Fee and counts them among four bulky items. A year-round on-call pickup is billed at $37.27 for an item under 50 pounds and $62.11 for a larger one, and the city confirms the tier when you call Utility Billing at 952-563-8726.
When & how
Ask Utility Billing at 952-563-8726 about an on-call pickup, wait for the next even-year Curbside Cleanup on your district Saturday, or move a working machine through a donation or resale outlet.
Get it ready
Describe the machine and its weight when you call. Break the machine down so one person can handle it, and drain and remove oil, gas and tires from a powered machine.
In an even-numbered year, put materials out no more than two days before your district Saturday and by 7 a.m. on the day itself. Weight cannot exceed 100 pounds per item and the truck passes only once, so anything left behind stays at the curb. Remove or tie shut appliance doors, drain engines, and break items down so one person can handle them.
Use a permitted, accessible outdoor spot. Arrange the move out of your home, keep shared access clear and follow your confirmation’s readiness instructions. Check with your building about access or staging limits before booking.

The published on-call prices are $37.27 for a bulky item under 50 pounds and $62.11 for a large appliance over 50 pounds or more than half metal and for other large items, plus $31.05 for an electronic item under 20 pounds without a screen and $49.68 for an electronic item over 20 pounds with a screen or monitor.

Appliances, mattresses and box springs, unusable furniture, carpet, and other bulky items that do not fit a small garbage cart, collected at the curb on an assigned Saturday.
Cost & conditions
No charge. Households that pay the Bulky Item Management Fee on the city utility bill. Apartments and some town homes may not be included, so check with the property manager or the city first. Materials left behind after the single truck pass are the household's responsibility.
Arrange it
Curbside Cleanup runs every other year, in even-numbered years only, on five assigned Saturdays by hauling district. It ran in April 2026 and the city lists the next Curbside Cleanup as 2028.
Limits of two appliances, two mattresses or box springs and two unusable furniture items per household, four other bulky items, and construction and demolition material limited to one level standard pickup truck load. Electronics, tires, batteries, hazardous waste, plumbing fixtures, small items and yard waste are refused.
