Desks and bookshelves
Choose by construction, not height alone. A basic desk is different from a heavy desk with a substantial body. A tall, lightweight bookcase can still be a standard bookshelf. Empty it first.

City cost & eligibility
The city event prices furniture by piece: chairs are $5 for a small one and $10 for a large one, a loveseat is $20, a couch or sofa is $25, a hide-a-bed is $35, and sectionals, dressers, chests, tables and other furniture start at $5 depending on size. Payment is cash or a check payable to the City of Minnetonka, and the hauler you contract with sets its own large-item price.
When & how
Bring furniture to the east parking lot at Minnetonka Public Works, 11522 Minnetonka Blvd., during one of the two events the city holds each year. The 2026 dates are Saturday, June 6 and Saturday, Sept. 12, 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Get it ready
Empty the drawers, remove cushions and loose parts, and keep anything holding wet paint, gasoline, motor oil or another hazardous material out of the load. Electronics, construction debris, concrete and garbage are refused at the same event.
The city holds two large-item drop-off days a year at Minnetonka Public Works, 11522 Minnetonka Blvd., in the east parking lot, and publishes a price for each accepted material. Payment is cash or a check payable to the City of Minnetonka, and concrete, construction debris, electronics, garbage, hazardous waste, batteries, liquids, railroad ties and shingles are refused.

Two Saturdays a year, 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., in the east parking lot at Minnetonka Public Works, 11522 Minnetonka Blvd. The 2026 dates are June 6 and Sept. 12.
Minnetonka residents only. Electronics, construction debris, concrete, garbage, household hazardous waste, household and rechargeable batteries, liquids, mercury thermometers, printers, railroad ties and shingles are not accepted.

Yes. Add each piece and its quantity to one booking. A dining table and four chairs are five items; a separate mirror is not included with a dresser. You can mix eligible items from different rooms and review their combined total before paying.
Do I need to take furniture apart before pickup?+
You arrange any disassembly needed to move the furniture out of your home and into an accessible outdoor pickup spot. Dropcurb does not provide indoor disassembly or carrying. If you are unsure which catalog choice matches a dismantled or unusual piece, send a photo and ask before booking.
Can I drop off a couch at the city event?+
