Match your item

Construction cleanup starts with the right items.

We currently accept the doors, toilets and bathroom vanities listed here, already detached and ready outside. Choose each item separately. Mixed drywall, tile, concrete, lumber and demolition rubble are not accepted, including in bags.

Doors

Count each detached door panel separately. Have it removed from its hinges before pickup. A whole installed doorway or garage door is not the same item.

Toilets

Choose Toilet for an ordinary household toilet that has already been disconnected, drained and moved outside. Text a photo before booking if yours is broken or has loose sharp pieces.

Bathroom vanities

Choose the small, standard or large bathroom vanity that matches your sink cabinet. A makeup table has a separate choice. Plumbing disconnection and removal from the wall happen before pickup.

Construction and demolition debris

Special rules apply

Small tear-out loads go at the curb with the bulky collection, up to 4 cubic yards alongside 6 cubic yards of other bulky waste, and anything larger moves to the Cabarrus County Landfill or a paid roll-off container.

City cost & eligibility
From $15 per load weighing 1 to 500 pounds at the Cabarrus County Landfill, with higher published per-load rates up to 1,999 pounds and per-ton rates for construction and demolition material. Cabarrus County Landfill, 4441 Irish Potato Road, Concord. The county takes credit and debit cards only, with no cash, and does not accept residential waste in trailers over 8 feet, in box trucks, or any house or rental house cleanout. The curb route itself is included in the residential service up to the city's volume limit.
When & how
Put up to 4 cubic yards at the curb by 6 a.m. on the recycling collection day with the bulky pile, or take a load to the county landfill Monday to Friday 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. or Saturday 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., where construction waste is not accepted after 4:45 p.m. on weekdays or 11:45 a.m. on Saturdays.
Get it ready
Remove nails or bend them flush with the wood, bag or box loose material such as drywall and insulation, keep each bag or box under 35 pounds, and secure the pile so nothing scatters. Concrete has to come off posts, fencing and playground equipment before the curb, and any piece encased in concrete is refused.

City of Concord Solid Waste Services and Cabarrus County Solid Waste Management

Set bulky items out with the city collection

A Concord household with furniture, an appliance, a mattress, electronics or a small construction load that the roll-out carts will not take.

Cost & conditions
No charge. Bulky waste and the separate e-waste collection are part of the residential service, collected bi-weekly on the recycling day, with no published per-item charge inside the limit of 10 cubic yards of bulky waste or 6 cubic yards of bulky waste plus 4 cubic yards of construction debris.
Arrange it
Put the items at the curb by 6 a.m. on the recycling collection day, 2 feet from the carts and clear of obstructions, and call Customer Care at 704-920-5555 with questions about a particular item.

Items too heavy for two people must be dismantled, individual items are capped at 65 pounds unless they roll, tires are limited to two collections a year and eight tires per collection, and anything encased in concrete is refused. A pile above the city's volume limit becomes a paid roll-off container.

Donate to Habitat Cabarrus ReStore

A household with furniture, a working appliance, a flat-screen television, usable building materials or exercise equipment that is still good enough to sell again.

Cost & conditions
No charge. ReStore takes donations at no charge and picks up larger items free through its donation hotline, with the pickup scheduled about a week ahead.
Arrange it
Call the donation hotline at 704.786.4000 to schedule a pickup, or drop items off Tuesday to Friday 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. or Saturday 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at 2902 South Cannon Blvd. in Kannapolis.

Crews do not enter the home, so items go in a garage, on the porch or at the curb, and apartment donations have to be in the first-floor breezeway. ReStore cannot take mattresses, box springs, sleeper sofas, tube televisions, desktop computers, printers, dishwashers or appliances over 15 years old.

Order a roll-off container for a load past the city limit

A household whose pile goes past the city's volume limit, such as a full clean-out or a larger renovation tear-out.

Cost & conditions
A load above the city's limit is a roll-off container scheduled and paid for through Waste Pro, and Concord does not publish the container price. Confirm the current rate before ordering.
Arrange it
Call Waste Pro at 980-255-3800 to schedule the container and arrange payment before the pile grows.

This is the commercial route rather than the free residential curb route, and the same material rules apply, so keep concrete, hazardous waste and anything the county refuses out of the container.

Taking it somewhere yourself?

The self-haul route for this address is Cabarrus County, and the same landfill on Irish Potato Road takes both kinds of load. Household and yard waste goes by the bag or by the pickup or trailer with a published per-load fee, and construction and demolition debris goes by weight with its own schedule, subject to a state disposal tax, and only credit or debit cards are accepted with no cash. The county refuses residential waste in trailers over 8 feet long or in box trucks and refuses house and rental cleanouts, and it is not accepting construction and demolition waste from roll-off trucks or from whole home tear-downs. Scrap metal and appliances, drained power lawn equipment, electronics, and up to five tires per load from county residents carry no drop-off charge, which makes the county the better route for a working appliance or an old computer than a paid load of mixed debris. From $6 per load of up to five 32-gallon bags of household or yard waste, with published per-load rates up to ten bags and per-ton rates for construction and demolition material, subject to a state disposal tax. Before you book

A few things
worth knowing.

Construction debris removal, from choosing your item to pickup day in Concord.

How much does construction debris removal cost in Concord?

Pricing is per accepted item. A detached door is $99 as a single item, an ordinary toilet is $79, and a small bathroom vanity is $99. Larger vanities have their own choices. Select the listed items to see the exact combined price. These prices do not cover mixed rubble or loose building materials. Loading, transportation and disposal are included; applicable sales tax appears before payment.

Can I get same-day toilet or vanity pickup in Concord?

Book by 2pm at your pickup address for same-day pickup, where available. Checkout shows the dates you can choose. Arrange disconnection, removal and the move outside first, then have the fixture ready by the time in your confirmation. We text you before arrival and provide pickup photos when it is done.

Will you disconnect a sink or take a door off its hinges?

The fixture must already be detached, disconnected and accessible outside at ground level. Arrange plumbing, electrical work, removal from walls or hinges, and indoor carrying before pickup. Dropcurb handles loading and haul-away from your outdoor pickup spot.

Can I add bags of drywall, tile or other demolition waste?

Mixed drywall, tile, concrete, lumber and demolition rubble are not accepted. This page offers pickup for the listed doors, toilets and bathroom vanities that are already removed. Do not book loose building materials as household trash bags or as an extra item. Arrange suitable disposal for those materials with your contractor or a debris specialist.

Can a door, toilet and vanity go in the same pickup?

Yes. Add each listed fixture separately and choose the correct vanity size. Each detached door panel counts as one item. The combined price appears before you book. Keep the fixtures together outside, separate from anything staying, and add a location photo on your order page.

How much construction debris will Concord take at the curb?

No more than 4 cubic yards, either on its own alongside 6 cubic yards of other bulky waste to stay inside the city's 10 cubic yard limit, or as part of that limit. Nails come out or bend flush, loose material is bagged or boxed under 35 pounds each, and anything past the limit becomes a roll-off container scheduled through Waste Pro or a load taken to the Cabarrus County Landfill.Official guidance

Where can a Concord resident take a load the curb will not take?

The Cabarrus County Landfill at 4441 Irish Potato Road, open 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on weekdays and 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday. Household and yard waste is charged by the load and construction and demolition debris by weight, cards only with no cash, and no trailers over 8 feet, box trucks or house cleanouts are accepted. Scrap metal, appliances, electronics and up to five tires from county residents have no drop-off charge.Official guidance
