The local disposal guide
Concord runs its own residential collection, so this is a city service rather than a subscription. Garbage and yard waste come weekly and recycling and bulky waste every other week on the same scheduled collection day, and bulky waste is the city's catch-all for anything too large for a cart, including furniture, appliances, scrap metal, tires, carpet and padding and small amounts of construction debris. Everything above the city's size limit, and anything a household would rather haul itself, goes to the Cabarrus County Landfill on Irish Potato Road, where construction and demolition debris, yard waste and bagged household loads carry a published per-load or per-ton fee and scrap metal, appliances, electronics and up to five tires carry none.
