City collection The City accepts furniture as bulk trash, but curbside items must stay within its handling limit. The current list does not name couches separately. Confirm the address has City collection and that the exact furniture item meets the bulk-item limits.
City collection Mattresses and box springs are listed for bulk collection when each item meets the City's handling limit. Confirm City collection for the address and that each bedding item is within the handling limit.
City collection Large appliances use appointment collection rather than the regular bulk route. Businesses and apartments are not eligible for this service. Ask the Contact Center about eligibility and any charge when scheduling the appliance.

Will the city take it?
Greensboro uses separate routes for bulky furniture, large appliances, electronics, and construction debris. Furniture and mattresses may use the every-other-week bulk day when they meet the handling limit. Appliances need an appointment, televisions and computers go to the county-resident collection center, and do-it-yourself debris has its own container rules.
The City directs toaster ovens, microwaves, and similar small appliances to the Household Hazardous Waste Collection Center.
