Match the screen

Flat screen or tube? Start with the shape.

The TV’s type and size determine which item to choose. A new model and an old model can use the same option if their shape and screen size match.

Flat-screen TVs

Measure the screen diagonally, corner to corner, without the frame. Choose under 42 inches or 42 inches and larger. A TV measuring exactly 42 inches belongs to the larger option.

Tube TVs

An older tube or CRT television has curved glass and a deep, heavy body. Choose Tube TV even if its screen is small. A rear-projection TV is different; send a photo before booking so we can check the fit.

TV stands and other electronics

The TV price covers the television. Add a media console, computer monitor or other item separately if it is going too. Choose only what you want removed and review the combined price.

  1. Arrange any unmounting first.

Dropcurb does not remove TVs from walls or do indoor carrying. Arrange the help you need before pickup day, including the trip down interior stairs or through an elevator.

  2. Choose a permitted outdoor spot.

Use a stable, accessible location with a clear path for loading. Keep the TV separate from anything staying. Check building rules before placing it in a shared pickup area.

  3. Show us the TV that is going.

Add a location photo and access notes after booking. Follow the readiness instructions in your confirmation. For exposed broken glass or unusual damage, send a photo and check with us before booking.

Televisions, computers and other electronics

Not on the regular city route

Televisions and computers are banned from North Carolina landfills, and the city refuses them at the curb. The city and county run free drop-off sites instead, and electronics must never go in a recycling cart.

City cost & eligibility
No charge. Free drop-off for households at the designated sites: the High Point Material Recovery Facility at 5875 Riverdale Drive in Jamestown and the unstaffed Ingleside trailer at 3001 Ingleside Drive. Confirm the hours on 336-883-3623 or 336-883-3111 before travelling.
When & how
Drop off during site hours. The Material Recovery Facility is open Monday to Thursday, and the Ingleside trailer Monday to Friday 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Saturday 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Get it ready
Wipe personal data before a computer leaves the house, because the city says hard drives are shredded by a certified e-cycler with a certificate of destruction available. Keep the device out of every cart, since compacting a lithium battery can start a truck fire.

City of High Point Environmental Services with Guilford County collection sites

Use a household hazardous waste event

A High Point household with paint, chemicals, batteries, a broken appliance, scrap metal or metal furniture.

Cost & conditions
Neither the city page nor the county material states a fee for the High Point events or for the county collection center on Patterson Avenue, so confirm the current terms with the county center or with the city before loading. Business waste, asbestos, explosives, infectious waste, radioactive material and general household trash are refused.
Arrange it
High Point holds its events at 1401 E. Martin Luther King Jr. Drive, entered from Hoskins Street, and the site is closed to the public on other days. The published 2026 dates are May 16 and November 14 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., so check the current schedule before loading. The county center at 2750 Patterson Avenue is open Monday to Friday 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturday 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Events only on their scheduled days, and the list of what is taken changes, so confirm the item first. Metal furniture and broken appliances are on the event list; ordinary household trash is not, and refrigerant appliances still have to be confirmed.

Taking it somewhere yourself?

High Point residents have four self-haul routes that cover most of what a curbside cart cannot take. Appliances, mattresses and other bulky items can go to the Kersey Valley Landfill white goods and bulky drop-off during its weekday hours, billed by weight. Televisions, computers and other electronics go free to the Material Recovery Facility in Jamestown or the unstaffed trailer at Ingleside. Paint, chemicals, batteries and tires wait for a household hazardous waste event at 1401 E. Martin Luther King Jr. Drive or go to the Guilford County center on Patterson Avenue in Greensboro, and the county's Bishop Road facility takes scrap metal and white goods. Before you book

A few things
worth knowing.

TV removal, from choosing your item to pickup day in High Point.

How much does TV removal cost in High Point?

A flat-screen TV under 42 inches is $79 as the first item and $19 as an additional item. Larger flat screens and tube TVs have their own prices. Loading, transportation and disposal are included. Choose the type that matches your TV and review your total, including any applicable tax, before payment.

Can I get same-day TV pickup in High Point?

Book by 2pm at your pickup address for same-day pickup. Choose from the dates offered at checkout and have the TV outside according to your confirmation. We text you when your hauler is on the way and provide photos when the pickup is done.

Will Dropcurb remove my TV from the wall or carry it downstairs?

You arrange unmounting, disconnection and indoor carrying before pickup. Dropcurb starts at an accessible outdoor location, where we load your TV and take it away. If you need help removing a mounted TV or moving a heavy tube TV outside, arrange that separately before your pickup day.

Do you pick up old tube or CRT televisions?

Yes. Choose Tube TV for an older television with curved glass and a deep, heavy body. Its price is $249 as the first item and $249 as an additional item. A rear-projection television is a different item; send a photo before booking rather than choosing the tube-TV option.

Does my old TV have to work?

Your TV does not need to turn on for removal. Choose its type and size and arrange to have it outside before pickup. A non-working TV and a TV with exposed broken glass are different situations; send a photo of unusual damage so we can confirm the plan before you book.

Will the city pick up a television or a computer?

No. North Carolina bans televisions and computers from the landfill and the city will not collect them at the curb. Take them free of charge to the Material Recovery Facility in Jamestown or the unstaffed Ingleside trailer, the county site on Bishop Road, EcoFlo on Patterson Street in Greensboro, or a scheduled hazardous waste event.Official guidance

How do the household hazardous waste events work?

Guilford County residents may use the collection center at 2750 Patterson Avenue in Greensboro, open Monday to Friday 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturday 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., and High Point runs its own events at 1401 E. Martin Luther King Jr. Drive, entered from Hoskins Street. The published 2026 dates are May 16 and November 14 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., and the site is otherwise closed, so check the schedule before loading.Official guidance

Where can I look up an item the city will not collect?

The city's Where do I take... guide lists the Material Recovery Facility, Kersey Valley Landfill, the Ingleside compost site and the household hazardous waste events with what each one accepts. Confirm the item and the hours with Customer Service on 336-883-3111 before you load the vehicle.Official guidance
