Payment is arranged with Waste Pro when the pickup is scheduled. A single bulky item such as a sofa or chair is free at a Mecklenburg County full-service center with the free resident entry sticker.
When & how
Call Waste Pro at 980-325-3640 to schedule and pay for the pickup. Bulk waste is collected on the same day as trash collection, so set the furniture out for that day once the pickup is arranged.

Take the pieces down far enough for one person to handle, keep them clear of the garbage and recycling carts and any obstruction, and leave mattresses and upholstery dry. Household hazardous waste, electronics, batteries and construction material cannot ride with a bulk load.
