City cost & eligibility
Exercise equipment is not named in the published bulky waste allowance and the city publishes no rate for it. Call the Recycling and Solid Waste Management Division at 856-794-4089 to ask whether the piece can go out as the weekly bulky item or has to go through a permitted hauler.
When & how
Ask the division before the collection day. If the piece is refused at the curb, the published alternatives are a private hauler holding a New Jersey permit or the county solid waste complex.
Get it ready
Have the dimensions and weight ready when you call, because the regulations also refuse items larger than the collection allows and require trash to fit inside the city cart with nothing loose on the ground. Keep the machine at the edge of the lawn or curb and never in the roadway if it is accepted.
Every address gets a single trash and recycling day each week, and both are collected on that same day. When your scheduled day falls on a holiday, the pickup moves to the next day.
