What electronics do you pick up?

TVs, monitors, computers, printers, game consoles, stereos, and other consumer electronics. We do not pick up loose batteries or industrial equipment.

Our recycling partners follow certified data destruction protocols. Hard drives and storage media are physically destroyed during the recycling process.

Can I put electronics in regular trash?

In most cities, no. Electronics contain hazardous materials that require proper recycling. Dropcurb ensures your e-waste is handled at certified facilities.

Do you pick up old CRT TVs?

Yes. CRT TVs contain lead and must be recycled properly — they can't go in regular trash in most cities. CRT TVs are $249. Place at the curb and our hauler handles the rest.

Can I drop off just one old laptop or small item?

Yes, but our starting price applies regardless of item size. For a single small item like a laptop, you may save money at a Best Buy or Staples drop-off (free for small electronics). Dropcurb makes more sense when you have multiple items or larger electronics like TVs and monitors.

DSNY large item curbside removal — free for all NYC residents. As of 2024, pick-up appointments are no longer offered or required. Place up to 6 large items at the curb on your regular collection day. Mattresses and box springs must be sealed in a plastic bag or encasement. CFC appliances (fridges, freezers, window AC units) still require a separate 311 request for Freon recovery. E-waste (TVs, computers, monitors) is banned from curbside trash — must go to SAFE Disposal events or e-waste drop-off sites.
