Count each detached door panel separately. Have it removed from its hinges before pickup. A whole installed doorway or garage door is not the same item.
Toilets
Choose Toilet for an ordinary household toilet that has already been disconnected, drained and moved outside. Text a photo before booking if yours is broken or has loose sharp pieces.
Bathroom vanities
Choose the small, standard or large bathroom vanity that matches your sink cabinet. A makeup table has a separate choice. Plumbing disconnection and removal from the wall happen before pickup.

The city separates building refuse by who generated it. Refuse from major repairs or remodeling carried out by the property owner may be prepared and placed out for collection, but the city will not collect waste generated by a contractor, and contractors have to arrange the proper and legal disposal themselves.
City cost & eligibility
There is no city rate to publish: owner-generated building refuse rides the annual refuse fee, while contractor-generated waste is refused at the curb and has to be disposed of privately. For a load that is too large or too quick for the regular route, the city's on demand service is arranged with the Commercial Refuse Business Office on 428-6928 and paid when the collection agreement is signed.
When & how
Prepare the owner-generated material for the regular collection day, and arrange a private hauler or the on demand service before work starts when the load is beyond what the weekly route can take.
Get it ready
Keep contractor-generated waste out of the curbside load entirely, because the city will not collect it. Follow the bulk preparation rules for what does go out: remove nails from discarded lumber or bend them over, tie long pieces in bundles within the published length, diameter and weight limits, and keep hazardous, flammable, radioactive, infectious, biomedical and explosive material out of the pile.

Arrange it
Contact the Commercial Refuse Business Office, describe what needs to be collected, meet the representative on site to sign a collection agreement, pay at that time, and the collection is scheduled for the next business day.
The service is a paid extra collection rather than part of the weekly route, payment is made at the agreement stage, and the same prohibited waste rules apply to what can be collected.
Rochester households can self haul to the Monroe County ecopark at 10 Avion Drive, open Wednesday from 1 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. and Saturday from 7:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. and closed on holidays. The site is for Monroe County residents only, an appointment is required only for household hazardous waste, and the recycling stations are self-serve apart from that stream. Electronics, appliances, scrap metal, rechargeable and button batteries, fluorescent and CFL bulbs, sharps and syringes, pharmaceuticals, paper for shredding and household hazardous waste by appointment are all taken there. Tires carry a fee that depends on whether they are on or off the rim with a limit of four tires per person, an appliance that still contains refrigerant carries its own fee, and mattresses, household garbage, building materials, alkaline and lead acid batteries, used motor oil, asbestos, PVC pipe, radioactive materials, smoke and carbon monoxide detectors and Styrofoam food containers are refused. Can a door, toilet and vanity go in the same pickup?+
Yes. Add each listed fixture separately and choose the correct vanity size. Each detached door panel counts as one item. The combined price appears before you book. Keep the fixtures together outside, separate from anything staying, and add a location photo on your order page.

What will Rochester not collect?+
