Filled bags and boxes

Count each trash bag or filled household box. Books and media go by the box. Clothes, bedding and shoes go by the filled bag. Toys packed together have a Box of toys choice. Ask us about unusually heavy or oversized bags and boxes first.

Empty cardboard and containers

Empty cardboard is a different choice: choose single empty boxes or tied bundles of 10 flattened boxes. Compacted bales have their own weight-based choices and require loading-dock access. A Storage bin choice covers the empty bin itself; ask us to confirm the contents if they are going too.

Furniture and other larger items

City cost & eligibility
From $50 for the one time charge for a requested curbside bulk pickup of up to four cubic yards, plus $5 for each additional cubic yard, added to the water bill. The four annual bulk pickup weeks include one free curbside bulk pickup for each household on its normal trash day, and the requested paid pickup is the route for a mattress outside those weeks. Two 95 gallon carts are already covered by the $17.02 monthly residential base charge.
When & how
During a bulk week the mattress goes out no earlier than 6 p.m. the Friday before and no later than 6 a.m. on the normal trash day. Outside a bulk week, call Sanitation Services at 405-354-4317 to arrange the paid pickup.
Get it ready
Keep the piece clear of the cart, the mailbox and any overhead line, since bulk items may not sit within five feet of carts, mailboxes, fences, meters or structures or within ten feet of an overhead obstruction. Nothing outside a cart is collected on an ordinary trash day, so the mattress waits for its pickup day.

Accepted with preparation

Furniture is named on the bulk week acceptable list along with mattresses and carpet, with four cubic yards allowed for the household. A couch outside a bulk week moves on the requested paid pickup.

From $50 for the one time charge for a requested curbside bulk pickup of up to four cubic yards, plus $5 for each additional cubic yard, billed to the water account. Each household gets one free curbside bulk pickup during each of the four annual bulk weeks, and the paid requested pickup covers a couch that has to leave at another time of year.

Get it ready

Appliances and white goods

Special rules apply

Appliances that do not use freon are acceptable at the curb during a bulk week, while a refrigerator, freezer or air conditioner is refused there and goes to the transfer station. The station waives its per appliance fee during bulk week and requires refrigerant removal documentation otherwise.

City cost & eligibility
$25 per appliance with refrigerant at the transfer station, with the fee waived during the city's curbside bulk pickup weeks. A whole, partly dismantled or crushed appliance with a cooling element is accepted only with documentation of proper refrigerant removal under the EPA Section 608 rule. Non freon appliances are on the acceptable list for the free curbside bulk week.
When & how
Take a freon appliance to the transfer station at 501 Ash Avenue, or bring it during a bulk pickup week when the fee is waived. Non freon appliances go out with the household's bulk pickup during a bulk week.
Get it ready
Arrange documentation of refrigerant removal before a refrigerator, freezer, window air conditioner, water cooler, vending machine, ice maker or dehumidifier is delivered, since the station will not accept the unit without it. Keep the appliance out of the cart, and keep it clear of the mailbox and any overhead line at the curb.

Televisions, computers and electronics

Not on the regular city route

Televisions and monitors are refused in the curbside bulk pile and go to the transfer station, where each set carries a published fee that is waived during bulk week. Computers, printers, stereos, phones and microwaves are accepted there for recycling.

From $10 per cathode ray tube computer monitor at the transfer station, with cathode ray tube televisions at $20 each and both fees waived during the city's curbside bulk pickup weeks. Electronic recycling items are accepted with the free monthly resident disposal up to a level pickup bed, and the per item fees apply to monitors and televisions. A current utility bill and a matching driver's licence are required.
When & how
Take the equipment to the transfer station at 501 Ash Avenue during its published hours, or use a bulk pickup week when the television and monitor fees are waived.
Get it ready
Keep televisions, monitors and batteries out of the curbside pile entirely, and keep them out of the recycle centre bins as well, which refuse window glass, light bulbs, ceramics and household metal items. Wipe personal data from a computer before it is recycled.

Building, remodeling and yard project material

Special rules apply

Dirt, bricks, rocks, concrete, roofing material and uncontained sheetrock are refused in the curbside pile, while lumber, fence panels, wood and sheet goods cut into four foot pieces are acceptable during a bulk week. Heavier loads go to the transfer station.

From $8.5 per cubic yard at the transfer station for loads outside the free monthly allowance and outside the flat automobile, pickup and trailer rates. The first visit each calendar month is free to city residents up to a level pickup bed with a driver's licence and the current utility bill. Trailers are charged flat rates when the sides are no higher than one foot, and everything outside those parameters is charged by the cubic yard.
When & how
Cut the material into four foot by four foot pieces for the curbside bulk week, or take the load to the transfer station at 501 Ash Avenue.
Get it ready
Keep concrete, brick, rock and dirt out of the curbside pile entirely, since the flyer refuses them, and cut lumber to four foot lengths and sheet goods and fence panels to four foot squares. Separate roofing material, which belongs at the transfer station rather than at the curb.

Exercise equipment is not named in the city's bulk list, so the machine is confirmed with Sanitation Services before it goes out, and it counts inside the same four cubic yard household limit.

The free bulk pickup covers four cubic yards per household during a bulk week, but no city document names an exercise machine. Call Sanitation Services at 405-354-4317 and confirm whether the machine is collected in the bulk pile or has to go to the transfer station as rubbish.

Confirm the item first, then set it out during a bulk week on the normal trash day, or take it to the transfer station with the free monthly resident load.
Get it ready
Break the machine down as far as it comes apart, remove loose weights and the console, and keep it clear of the carts and the mailbox. Keep it out of the cart itself, since nothing outside a cart is collected on an ordinary trash day.

Yukon handles bulk material with four curbside pickup weeks a year, one free four cubic yard pickup for each household during each week, and paid options for anything that has to leave sooner or that runs larger.

City cost & eligibility
No charge. One free curbside bulk pickup per household on its normal trash day during each of the four annual bulk weeks, limited to four cubic yards. Outside those weeks a requested bulk pickup is $50 for up to four cubic yards plus $5 for each additional cubic yard, an extra cart is $10 or $15 a month for a third or fourth cart, an extra pickup is $10 per trip, and the transfer station takes one free load a month up to a level pickup bed.
When & how
Bulk items go out no earlier than 6 p.m. the Friday before the bulk week and no later than 6 a.m. on the normal trash day, and the 2026 weeks are March 23 to 27, June 1 to 5, September 14 to 18 and December 7 to 11.
Get it ready
Bag grass clippings and loose trash, keep the cart lid closed, and keep bulk material within five feet of nothing and ten feet of any overhead obstruction. Remove portable basketball goals from the curb line, because anything left along the curb on pickup day is subject to removal and material that breaks the rules is not collected.

Only city carts are serviced, and nothing extra sits beside them

Yukon services only its own carts, and the city no longer collects extra trash bags or additional curbside material outside a cart or dumpster. Carts go to the street by 6 a.m. on the trash day, point toward the street with the wheels against the curb, keep the lid closed, and stay at least three feet from vehicles, mailboxes and overhead obstructions.

Ten feet from overhead lines, five feet from everything else

Nothing may be placed within ten feet of an overhead obstruction such as a tree limb or power line, or within five feet of carts, mailboxes, fences, utility meters or structures. Portable basketball goals have to come out of the curb line, and material that breaks the rules is left in place without notice.

One free transfer station load each month

City residents may dispose of household trash, yard waste and rubbish once per calendar month at no charge, limited to no more than a level pickup bed, and the free visit requires a driver's licence plus the current month's utility bill with a matching name or address. Loads beyond that are charged by the load or by the cubic yard.

Cut it to four feet and box the glass

Fence panels and other large items have to be cut into four foot by four foot pieces, lumber and sheet goods to four foot lengths or squares, and bundled tree limbs to no longer than four feet and no larger than six inches in diameter. Glass and mirrors are boxed or wrapped and clearly marked, and yard waste goes into containers or heavy duty bags no larger than 35 gallons or 50 pounds.

Use a free curbside bulk week

A Yukon household with appliances that do not use freon, furniture, a mattress, carpet, bagged yard waste, bundled limbs or cut fence panels to put out with the regular trash.

Cost & conditions
No charge. One free curbside bulk pickup per household on its normal trash day during each of the four annual bulk weeks, limited to four cubic yards, with the residential base charge of $17.02 a month covering up to two 95 gallon carts.

Put the material out on the normal trash day during the week, no earlier than 6 p.m. the Friday before and no later than 6 a.m. on the pickup day, keeping it clear of carts, mailboxes, fences, meters, structures and overhead lines.

Refrigerators, freezers, air conditioners, televisions, monitors, batteries, tires, waste oil, antifreeze, dirt, bricks, rocks, concrete, roofing material, uncontained sheetrock and ordinary household garbage are refused in the curbside pile.

A household that has to clear a piece outside the four bulk weeks, or that has a handful of extra items to clear together.

Cost & conditions
From $50 per trip for up to four cubic yards, plus $5 for each additional cubic yard, added to the water bill. Requested through Sanitation Services at 405-354-4317 and billed to the utility account rather than paid to the crew. A one time extra pickup of the regular carts is a separate $10 charge per trip.

Can you pick up a small loose pile of household junk?

Yes. Estimate how many trash bags the small household pile would fill, and bag or box as much as possible. Select furniture and other larger items separately. There is no extra charge just because the pile is loose. Send a photo first if the count or contents are unclear. A household Dumpster Bag choice does not accept construction debris.

Can I book bags, boxes and furniture together?

Yes. Select the bags and boxes, then add each larger item using its own catalog choice. The booking shows one combined price for the selected items. Move everything to an accessible outdoor spot before pickup; indoor carrying and sorting are not included. Keep anything you want to retain apart from the booked items and identify what goes in your photos and notes.
