Match the screen

Flat screen or tube? Start with the shape.

The TV’s type and size determine which item to choose. A new model and an old model can use the same option if their shape and screen size match.

Flat-screen TVs

Measure the screen diagonally, corner to corner, without the frame. Choose under 42 inches or 42 inches and larger. A TV measuring exactly 42 inches belongs to the larger option.

Tube TVs

An older tube or CRT television has curved glass and a deep, heavy body. Choose Tube TV even if its screen is small. A rear-projection TV is different; send a photo before booking so we can check the fit.

TV stands and other electronics

The TV price covers the television. Add a media console, computer monitor or other item separately if it is going too. Choose only what you want removed and review the combined price.

  1. Arrange any unmounting first.

Dropcurb does not remove TVs from walls or do indoor carrying. Arrange the help you need before pickup day, including the trip down interior stairs or through an elevator.

  2. Choose a permitted outdoor spot.

Use a stable, accessible location with a clear path for loading. Keep the TV separate from anything staying. Check building rules before placing it in a shared pickup area.

  3. Show us the TV that is going.

Add a location photo and access notes after booking. Follow the readiness instructions in your confirmation. For exposed broken glass or unusual damage, send a photo and check with us before booking.

Televisions, computers and electronics

Accepted with preparation

Televisions, monitors, computers, printers, keyboards and mice are handled through Oregon E-Cycles, and the county transfer station depot also lists televisions, monitors and computers as accepted material.

City cost & eligibility
No charge. Free recycling through Oregon E-Cycles for up to seven qualifying items at a time at a collection site. The county transfer station depot on Canyon Valley Road also lists televisions, monitors and computers as accepted material.
When & how
Take the items to an Oregon E-Cycles collection site, or to the Clackamas County Transfer Station depot in Sandy, which is open Thursday through Monday with a last load at 4:30 p.m. and closed Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year's Day.
Get it ready
Wipe personal data from computers and drives before handover and keep the item count within the seven item Oregon E-Cycles limit. Do not put electronics in the garbage or the recycling cart, and keep batteries, bulbs and chemicals with the household hazardous waste load instead.

Chemicals, batteries and bulbs leave through Metro, not the hauler

Aerosol sprays, art and hobby chemicals, automotive fluids, batteries, fire extinguishers, cleaners and disinfectants, mercury containing items such as fluorescent bulbs and tubes, paints, stains, solvents and thinners, pesticides, pool and spa chemicals, propane tanks, sharps and medicines belong at a household hazardous waste facility. Households can take up to 35 gallons to the Metro facility in Oregon City, which is free for households and open daily from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Metro also asks for items upright in sturdy boxes in a single layer, in original containers with labels kept.

Clackamas County franchised garbage and recycling companies with Metro

Self haul to a county transfer station or depot

A household with appliances, scrap metal, electronics or a bulky load that it would rather drive to a county site.

Cost & conditions
The county does not publish a single gate rate for a self hauled bulky load at these sites, and it asks residents to call locations ahead to confirm hours and materials accepted. Confirm the accepted material and the charge with the station before loading.
Arrange it
Use the Clackamas County Transfer Station at 19600 SE Canyon Valley Rd in Sandy, open Thursday through Monday with a last load at 4:30 p.m., or the Metro South Transfer Station at 2001 Washington St in Oregon City, open daily. Call 503-260-1577 or 503-234-3000 first, because facilities may close during extreme weather.

Construction, demolition and remodeling debris may need Oregon asbestos testing and documentation before a transfer station will accept it, and suspect asbestos containing material is refused without the paperwork. The county asks residents to confirm hours and materials before travelling.

Taking it somewhere yourself?

A Damascus address is served as unincorporated Clackamas County rather than by a city department, and that changes what a household has to do. Bulky items are an on call pickup from the franchised hauler for the fee zone, priced with the county minimum and maximum plus weight and handling, and a unit holding refrigerant also carries the coolant removal charge that applies even when the refrigerant has already been removed. A household that prefers to drive can use the county transfer station in Sandy or the Metro South transfer station in Oregon City, both of which ask for a call before travelling. Electronics have their own free route through Oregon E-Cycles, and anything hazardous, from paint and solvents to batteries, bulbs and propane, belongs at the Metro household hazardous waste facility in Oregon City, which is free for households, open daily and limited to 35 gallons. County transfer station and recycling depot

Clackamas County Garbage and Recycling Transfer Station

19600 SE Canyon Valley Rd, Sandy, OR

Accepted curbside recycling, large and small appliances, scrap metal, tires, and televisions, monitors and computers, according to the county depot listing, plus the household garbage and yard debris a transfer station normally takes.

Construction, demolition and remodeling debris may need Oregon asbestos testing and documentation before disposal, and suspect asbestos containing material is refused without it. Household hazardous waste is taken at the Metro facility in Oregon City rather than here, and the county asks residents to call ahead because facilities may close during extreme weather.

Thursday through Monday from 9 a.m. to a last load at 4:30 p.m., closed Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year's Day and closing at 1 p.m. on Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve. Telephone 503-260-1577.

The county does not publish a single gate rate for a self hauled load at this site, so confirm the accepted material and the charge by telephone before loading.

Before you book

A few things
worth knowing.

TV removal, from choosing your item to pickup day in Damascus.

How much does TV removal cost in Damascus?

A flat-screen TV under 42 inches is $79 as the first item and $19 as an additional item. Larger flat screens and tube TVs have their own prices. Loading, transportation and disposal are included. Choose the type that matches your TV and review your total, including any applicable tax, before payment.

Can I get same-day TV pickup in Damascus?

Book by 2pm at your pickup address for same-day pickup. Choose from the dates offered at checkout and have the TV outside according to your confirmation. We text you when your hauler is on the way and provide photos when the pickup is done.

Will Dropcurb remove my TV from the wall or carry it downstairs?

You arrange unmounting, disconnection and indoor carrying before pickup. Dropcurb starts at an accessible outdoor location, where we load your TV and take it away. If you need help removing a mounted TV or moving a heavy tube TV outside, arrange that separately before your pickup day.

Do you pick up old tube or CRT televisions?

Yes. Choose Tube TV for an older television with curved glass and a deep, heavy body. Its price is $249 as the first item and $249 as an additional item. A rear-projection television is a different item; send a photo before booking rather than choosing the tube-TV option.

Does my old TV have to work?

Your TV does not need to turn on for removal. Choose its type and size and arrange to have it outside before pickup. A non-working TV and a TV with exposed broken glass are different situations; send a photo of unusual damage so we can confirm the plan before you book.

Where do Damascus televisions and computers go?

Through Oregon E-Cycles, which the county routes computers, monitors, televisions, printers, keyboards and mice to, with up to seven qualifying items at a time taken for free recycling at a collection site. The Clackamas County Transfer Station depot in Sandy also lists televisions, monitors and computers as accepted material. Batteries, bulbs and chemicals are a separate household hazardous waste trip.Official guidance

Who handles garbage in the Damascus area?

There is no city programme, because Damascus is unincorporated. Clackamas County sets the fees and service standards for the franchised garbage and recycling companies in unincorporated county territory, and the assigned company depends on the fee zone for the address. The county's Sustainability and Solid Waste office answers at 503-557-6363 and wasteinfo@clackamas.us.Official guidance
