Match the screen

Flat screen or tube? Start with the shape.

The TV’s type and size determine which item to choose. A new model and an old model can use the same option if their shape and screen size match.

Flat-screen TVs

Measure the screen diagonally, corner to corner, without the frame. Choose under 42 inches or 42 inches and larger. A TV measuring exactly 42 inches belongs to the larger option.

Tube TVs

An older tube or CRT television has curved glass and a deep, heavy body. Choose Tube TV even if its screen is small. A rear-projection TV is different; send a photo before booking so we can check the fit.

TV stands and other electronics

The TV price covers the television. Add a media console, computer monitor or other item separately if it is going too. Choose only what you want removed and review the combined price.

Televisions, computers and electronics

Accepted with preparation

Televisions, computers, monitors, printers, keyboards and mice are recycled free through Oregon E-Cycles, with a limit of seven items at a time, and the Clackamas depot on Clackamas Road takes televisions, monitors and computers.

City cost & eligibility
No charge. Oregon E-Cycles covers up to seven qualifying items at a time at a collection site, free of charge, and Metro South is an Oregon E-Cycles site with the same seven item daily limit per person. The Clackamas depot accepts televisions, monitors and computers, and it publishes no rate, so confirm its terms when you arrive.
When & how
Take the items to the Metro South transfer station at 2001 Washington St in Oregon City, or to the K.B. Recycling depot at 9602 SE Clackamas Road in Clackamas, which the county lists as a recycling depot. Confirm depot hours by phone before the trip.
Get it ready
Wipe personal data from anything that stores it, keep electronics out of the garbage cart and the recycling bin, and count your items because the seven item limit applies per day per person. Televisions, monitors, computers, printers, keyboards and mice are the qualifying devices.

Aerosol sprays, art and hobby chemicals, automotive fluids, batteries, fire extinguishers, cleaners, mercury products, paints, stains, solvents, thinners, pesticides, pool and spa chemicals, propane tanks, sharps and unwanted medicines do not belong in the garbage or a bulky pile. Metro takes household hazardous waste free at the Oregon City facility, up to 35 gallons by container size, with a different set of hours from the transfer station.

Taking it somewhere yourself?

Clackamas households can either call the franchised garbage company for a bulky pickup or haul material themselves. The county says mattresses, appliances and furniture count as bulky waste and that the collection is available even if you are not a regular customer of the company you call, with a fee range based on weight and handling and a coolant fee on anything with refrigerant. Self-haulers use the Metro South transfer station at 2001 Washington St in Oregon City, which takes garbage, bulky furniture, clean wood, yard debris, recyclables, appliances, electronics, motor oil and antifreeze, tires and household hazardous waste, or the Clackamas County transfer station in Sandy, open Thursday to Monday. Electronics are free through Oregon E-Cycles with a seven item limit, hazardous waste is free from households up to the container-size limit at the Metro hazardous waste facility, and renovation material needs asbestos testing and documentation before disposal. Before you book

A few things
worth knowing.

TV removal, from choosing your item to pickup day in Clackamas.

How much does TV removal cost in Clackamas?

A flat-screen TV under 42 inches is $79 as the first item and $19 as an additional item. Larger flat screens and tube TVs have their own prices. Loading, transportation and disposal are included. Choose the type that matches your TV and review your total, including any applicable tax, before payment.

Can I get same-day TV pickup in Clackamas?

Book by 2pm at your pickup address for same-day pickup. Choose from the dates offered at checkout and have the TV outside according to your confirmation. We text you when your hauler is on the way and provide photos when the pickup is done.

Will Dropcurb remove my TV from the wall or carry it downstairs?

You arrange unmounting, disconnection and indoor carrying before pickup. Dropcurb starts at an accessible outdoor location, where we load your TV and take it away. If you need help removing a mounted TV or moving a heavy tube TV outside, arrange that separately before your pickup day.

Do you pick up old tube or CRT televisions?

Yes. Choose Tube TV for an older television with curved glass and a deep, heavy body. Its price is $249 as the first item and $249 as an additional item. A rear-projection television is a different item; send a photo before booking rather than choosing the tube-TV option.

Does my old TV have to work?

Your TV does not need to turn on for removal. Choose its type and size and arrange to have it outside before pickup. A non-working TV and a TV with exposed broken glass are different situations; send a photo of unusual damage so we can confirm the plan before you book.

Where can I take a television or computer in Clackamas?

To an Oregon E-Cycles collection site, which takes up to seven qualifying items at a time free of charge. Metro South in Oregon City is one, and the county also lists K.B. Recycling at 9602 SE Clackamas Road in Clackamas as a depot that accepts televisions, monitors and computers.Official guidance

Which garbage company serves my Clackamas address?

Clackamas County licenses franchised garbage and recycling companies, and the county publishes their numbers, including Clackamas Garbage at 503-656-9633, Republic Services at 503-682-3900, Recology Clackamas at 503-774-4122 and Waste Management of Oregon at 800-808-5901. The county sets the fees for unincorporated areas, Happy Valley and Barlow, while households in another city pay that city's rates.Official guidance

Do I have to be a regular customer to get a bulky pickup?

No. The county says large appliances, furniture and other items can be collected by the garbage and recycling company even if you are not a regular customer, so a household can call a franchised company for a quote and a pickup time. Bulky waste is priced as a fee range plus weight and special handling, with an hourly fee if the item is not easily accessible.Official guidance

Where do paint, chemicals and batteries go in Clackamas?

To a household hazardous waste facility. Metro takes household hazardous waste free at its Oregon City site, up to 35 gallons by container size, with hours of its own that differ from the transfer station next to it. Aerosol sprays, automotive fluids, batteries, cleaners, mercury products, paints, stains, solvents, pesticides, pool chemicals, propane tanks, sharps and unwanted medicines all belong there rather than in the garbage or a bulky pile.Official guidance

Is electronics recycling free in Clackamas?

Yes, through Oregon E-Cycles. Households can take up to seven qualifying items at a time, including televisions, computers, monitors, printers, keyboards and mice, to a participating site for free, and Metro South is one of those sites. The county also lists K.B. Recycling on Clackamas Road as a depot for televisions, monitors and computers.Official guidance

What if I live in an apartment or a building with several units?

The county tells multifamily residents and businesses to speak to the landlord or property manager about large items and extra garbage rather than arranging a franchised pickup directly. Households in houses and small plexes with their own garbage account are the ones who call the franchise company themselves.Official guidance
