Match the screen

Flat screen or tube? Start with the shape.

The TV’s type and size determine which item to choose. A new model and an old model can use the same option if their shape and screen size match.

Flat-screen TVs

Measure the screen diagonally, corner to corner, without the frame. Choose under 42 inches or 42 inches and larger. A TV measuring exactly 42 inches belongs to the larger option.

Tube TVs

An older tube or CRT television has curved glass and a deep, heavy body. Choose Tube TV even if its screen is small. A rear-projection TV is different; send a photo before booking so we can check the fit.

TV stands and other electronics

The TV price covers the television. Add a media console, computer monitor or other item separately if it is going too. Choose only what you want removed and review the combined price.

Televisions, computers, monitors and printers

Accepted with preparation

Electronics run through a state program rather than the hauler. Oregon E-Cycles lets anyone bring seven or fewer computers, monitors, televisions and printers at a time to a participating collection site for free recycling, with peripherals such as keyboards and mice also free, and the city says e-waste is accepted for recycling at all times.

City cost & eligibility
No charge. Oregon E-Cycles is a statewide program that takes seven or fewer computers including desktops, laptops and tablets, monitors, televisions and printers at a time for free at participating collection sites, and computer peripherals such as keyboards and mice are free as well. Other types of electronics are not part of the program.
When & how
Collection sites keep their own hours and the current list is available from the program's site finder or on 888-769-0149. The city also states that televisions, computers and monitors are accepted at all times for recycling, so a device does not have to wait for the twice yearly cleanup.
Get it ready
Count the devices before the trip, because the free allowance is seven or fewer of the covered types at one time. Wipe personal data off a computer or drive before handover, keep the device out of the garbage and recycling carts, and remember that the program excludes electronics outside the covered list, such as small appliances and peripherals that are not keyboards or mice.

Take electronics to an Oregon E-Cycles site

Anyone with televisions, monitors, desktop or laptop computers, tablets or printers to recycle, up to seven devices at a time.

Arrange it
Find the nearest participating site through the program's site finder or by calling 888-769-0149, then bring the devices during the site's own hours. The city states that televisions, computers and monitors are accepted for recycling at all times, so this does not wait for a cleanup week.

The free allowance is seven or fewer devices of the covered types at one time, and electronics outside the covered list are not part of the program, so confirm an unusual device before the trip and wipe personal data first.

Taking it somewhere yourself?

Self haul in Forest Grove splits between the hauler, the city, the region and the state. Waste Management runs the weekly cart service on the rates the city council approves, and the rate sheet prices carts, extra bags, bundles and drop boxes rather than bulky items. The city's own cleanup runs twice a year and is the closest thing to a bulky item service: six extra bags of 32 gallons or less on the regular collection day at no extra charge, and three single items such as a couch, a mattress or an appliance with the refrigerant removed at the B Street drop off with the utility bill as proof of residency, while hazardous waste, construction material, kitchen garbage and yard debris are refused there. Metro Central at 6161 NW 61st Ave. in Portland and Metro South at 2001 Washington St. in Oregon City take the rest: recyclables, metal appliances and up to four mattresses or box springs a day free from residential customers, coolant appliances at a per unit charge with a five a day limit, tires from 30 dollars for the first, furniture and construction debris as solid waste by weight with a minimum covering loads up to 240 pounds and a 30 dollar transaction fee at the public scales, and household hazardous waste free up to 35 gallons a day at the co-located facilities. Oregon E-Cycles takes seven or fewer televisions, monitors, computers and printers at a time free at participating sites, and Bye Bye Mattress sites take mattresses and box springs in any condition free. Before you book

A few things
worth knowing.

TV removal, from choosing your item to pickup day in Forest Grove.

How much does TV removal cost in Forest Grove?

A flat-screen TV under 42 inches is $79 as the first item and $19 as an additional item. Larger flat screens and tube TVs have their own prices. Loading, transportation and disposal are included. Choose the type that matches your TV and review your total, including any applicable tax, before payment.

Can I get same-day TV pickup in Forest Grove?

Book by 2pm at your pickup address for same-day pickup. Choose from the dates offered at checkout and have the TV outside according to your confirmation. We text you when your hauler is on the way and provide photos when the pickup is done.

Will Dropcurb remove my TV from the wall or carry it downstairs?

You arrange unmounting, disconnection and indoor carrying before pickup. Dropcurb starts at an accessible outdoor location, where we load your TV and take it away. If you need help removing a mounted TV or moving a heavy tube TV outside, arrange that separately before your pickup day.

Do you pick up old tube or CRT televisions?

Yes. Choose Tube TV for an older television with curved glass and a deep, heavy body. Its price is $249 as the first item and $249 as an additional item. A rear-projection television is a different item; send a photo before booking rather than choosing the tube-TV option.

Does my old TV have to work?

Your TV does not need to turn on for removal. Choose its type and size and arrange to have it outside before pickup. A non-working TV and a TV with exposed broken glass are different situations; send a photo of unusual damage so we can confirm the plan before you book.

Where do televisions and computers go in Forest Grove?

To an Oregon E-Cycles collection site, where seven or fewer computers, monitors, televisions and printers at a time are recycled free, along with peripherals such as keyboards and mice. The city says e-waste is accepted for recycling at all times, and the program's site finder or the toll free 888-769-0149 line lists the nearest location. Other kinds of electronics are not covered.Official guidance

Who collects garbage in Forest Grove?

The city itself handles the twice yearly cleanup and the B Street drop off, and its main number is 503-992-3200.Official guidance

Where do I find out what can be recycled in Forest Grove?

The city is part of the Washington County Cooperative Recycling Program, which publishes the recycling guidelines for garbage, recycling and glass bins, and the city links the Waste Management recycling guide as well.
