Electronics are refused in the curbside recycling cart and in the curbside garbage, and they leave through Oregon E-Cycles or the hauler's depot. The state programme is free for televisions, computers, monitors and printers, seven items or fewer at a time.

No charge. Oregon E-Cycles is free for seven or fewer computers, laptops, tablets, monitors, televisions and printers at a time at participating collection sites, and keyboards and mice are also accepted free. Other types of electronics are not covered by the programme.
When & how
Take the device to a participating Oregon E-Cycles collection site, and use the state site locator or the toll free number 888-769-0149 to find the current nearest one, or bring it to the Sanitary Disposal depot on Highway 395, which the hauler's poster lists for electronics.
Get it ready
Wipe personal data before a computer leaves the house, and keep batteries, light bulbs, glass and hazardous items out of both the recycling cart and the electronics load. A contaminated recycling cart may be tagged or left unemptied.

Oregon's recycling law requires curbside recycling for cities over 4,000 residents, and Hermiston's service began on July 6, 2026 in a 95 gallon cart collected every other week. Recyclables have to be empty, clean and dry, and a contaminated cart may be tagged or left unemptied.

Drive to 81144 N Hwy 395 in Hermiston during the posted hours, and separate the load by material because the depot takes specific recyclables and refuses hazardous material.
The station accepts non hazardous municipal solid waste and inert material, the tire limit is ten per load, and the hauler's own hours and holidays item carries no published text, so hours should be confirmed by phone.

The city prints Monday to Friday 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., Saturday 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Sunday 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Sanitary Disposal contact block, closed on holidays, while the hauler's own hours item carries no text, so confirm before a trip.

Data erasure and certified data destruction are not included in Dropcurb removal. Back up the information you need, then follow the manufacturer’s sign-out and reset instructions before pickup. If a device cannot be erased or contains sensitive business information, arrange suitable data handling before giving it away.
