Match your item

Construction cleanup starts with the right items.

We currently accept the doors, toilets and bathroom vanities listed here, already detached and ready outside. Choose each item separately. Mixed drywall, tile, concrete, lumber and demolition rubble are not accepted, including in bags.

Doors

Count each detached door panel separately. Have it removed from its hinges before pickup. A whole installed doorway or garage door is not the same item.

Toilets

Choose Toilet for an ordinary household toilet that has already been disconnected, drained and moved outside. Text a photo before booking if yours is broken or has loose sharp pieces.

Bathroom vanities

Choose the small, standard or large bathroom vanity that matches your sink cabinet. A makeup table has a separate choice. Plumbing disconnection and removal from the wall happen before pickup.

  1. Arrange the removal work

Have the fixture safely detached and any plumbing or electrical connections handled by an appropriate professional. We do not remove installed fixtures or perform demolition.

  2. Keep the booked items separate

Have the fixtures empty and ready at ground level. Keep them apart from rubble, loose renovation materials, tools and anything you want to keep.

  3. Show the outdoor handoff

Use a permitted outdoor spot with a clear path. Add a location photo and notes on your order page so the right entrance and the right items are easy to identify.

Construction and remodel material

Special rules apply

Building materials are picked up by special arrangement rather than as ordinary garbage, and larger projects use a temporary container or a Metro drop-off.

City cost & eligibility
The city rate schedule has no construction line and the hauler treats building materials as a special arrangement item, so ask WM for an estimate before the material goes out. The total depends on the load, the labour and any Metropolitan tip fee, and Metro charges its own rates for construction material taken to a transfer station.
When & how
Call WM customer service to arrange the pickup or a temporary container before the work starts, or plan a self haul load to a Metro transfer station.
Get it ready
Keep construction material out of the garbage and recycling carts, and keep paint, solvents and asbestos out of the load entirely because those follow the household hazardous waste route instead.

Take it to Metro Central

Households that would rather haul their own load, including mattresses, electronics, metal appliances, tires, yard debris and general garbage.

Open to the general public during posted hours. Minimum charges cover loads up to 240 pounds, heavier loads pay a per ton rate plus a $30 transaction fee at staffed scales, and a 2 per cent processing fee applies to credit cards.
Arrange it
Load up and drive to 6161 NW 61st Ave in Portland, open to the public 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily, and separate the load where you can because sorted material pays a lower rate.

Taking it somewhere yourself?

Troutdale residents have two ways to move material that will not fit in a cart. The hauler collects bulky items, appliances, console televisions, furniture and building materials by special arrangement at the city's published per item rates, with the Metropolitan tip fee added to bulky items and refrigerated appliances. Anyone who would rather haul their own load can use Metro Central at 6161 NW 61st Ave in Portland, open to the public 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily, where mattresses and box springs are free up to four a day, metal appliances and electronics are free, coolant appliances are charged, tires and general garbage carry published minimums of $37 to $51 for loads up to 240 pounds, and household hazardous waste is free at the co-located facility. The WM transfer station on NW Eastwind Drive is not a residential drop-off, because it is open to commercial customers only. The city also runs cleanup events twice a year and points residents to Metro's spring and fall collection events for hazardous material. Before you book

A few things
worth knowing.

Construction debris removal, from choosing your item to pickup day in Troutdale.

How much does construction debris removal cost in Troutdale?

Pricing is per accepted item. A detached door is $99 as a single item, an ordinary toilet is $79, and a small bathroom vanity is $99. Larger vanities have their own choices. Select the listed items to see the exact combined price. These prices do not cover mixed rubble or loose building materials. Loading, transportation and disposal are included; applicable sales tax appears before payment.

Can I get same-day toilet or vanity pickup in Troutdale?

Book by 2pm at your pickup address for same-day pickup, where available. Checkout shows the dates you can choose. Arrange disconnection, removal and the move outside first, then have the fixture ready by the time in your confirmation. We text you before arrival and provide pickup photos when it is done.

Will you disconnect a sink or take a door off its hinges?

The fixture must already be detached, disconnected and accessible outside at ground level. Arrange plumbing, electrical work, removal from walls or hinges, and indoor carrying before pickup. Dropcurb handles loading and haul-away from your outdoor pickup spot.

Can I add bags of drywall, tile or other demolition waste?

Mixed drywall, tile, concrete, lumber and demolition rubble are not accepted. This page offers pickup for the listed doors, toilets and bathroom vanities that are already removed. Do not book loose building materials as household trash bags or as an extra item. Arrange suitable disposal for those materials with your contractor or a debris specialist.

Can a door, toilet and vanity go in the same pickup?

Yes. Add each listed fixture separately and choose the correct vanity size. Each detached door panel counts as one item. The combined price appears before you book. Keep the fixtures together outside, separate from anything staying, and add a location photo on your order page.

How do I get rid of remodeling debris?

Building materials are collected by special arrangement rather than as ordinary garbage, so call the hauler for an estimate, or order a temporary container for a larger project. Metro also takes construction material at its transfer stations for its published fees.Official guidance

WM collects for the whole city under a franchise agreement, and the city sets the rates for garbage, recycling and yard debris. Households arrange service, extra carts and special pickups with WM customer service on 800-808-5901.Official guidance

When is collection in Troutdale?

Collection happens on all holidays except Christmas Day and New Year's Day, and when the collection day falls on or after one of those holidays it shifts one day later that week.Official guidance

What does a bulky item pickup cost?

The city publishes a rate for a bulky item collected on the regular garbage truck, a higher rate for a special collection of the first item and a lower rate for each additional item, with refrigeration adding cost for appliances. The Metropolitan tip fee is added to bulky items and refrigerated appliances at market price, so ask WM for the total when the pickup is booked.Official guidance
