Match your item

Construction cleanup starts with the right items.

We currently accept the doors, toilets and bathroom vanities listed here, already detached and ready outside. Choose each item separately. Mixed drywall, tile, concrete, lumber and demolition rubble are not accepted, including in bags.

Doors

Count each detached door panel separately. Have it removed from its hinges before pickup. A whole installed doorway or garage door is not the same item.

Toilets

Choose Toilet for an ordinary household toilet that has already been disconnected, drained and moved outside. Text a photo before booking if yours is broken or has loose sharp pieces.

Bathroom vanities

Choose the small, standard or large bathroom vanity that matches your sink cabinet. A makeup table has a separate choice. Plumbing disconnection and removal from the wall happen before pickup.

Construction and demolition debris

Special rules apply

Construction waste is not part of curbside collection, must go to a Metro-authorized facility, and is charged by weight at a Metro transfer station.

City cost & eligibility
From $51 for minimum charge for a general garbage load at a Metro transfer station, with loads up to 240 pounds on the minimum, heavier loads charged a proportion of the per ton garbage rate, clean wood on its own lower per ton rate, and a transaction fee of $8.34 on automated scales or $30 per load on staffed public scales. Materials delivered to Metro Central or Metro South, which any household can use; all mixed waste generated in the Metro service area must go to a Metro-authorized material recovery facility, and using a facility that is not licensed, franchised or designated by Metro requires a non-system licence.
When & how
Haul the load to Metro Central or Metro South during public hours, or arrange a drop box through the collection company for a larger project. Mixed construction waste from greater Portland may not be taken to an unauthorized facility, so confirm the destination before the load leaves the job site.
Get it ready
Separate clean wood from mixed debris because the clean wood rate is much lower, keep painted, stained, varnished or treated material out of that separated stream, and keep asbestos containing material, flat and built-up roofing, liquids, petroleum contaminated soil and wildfire ash out of the load because the transfer stations refuse them.

What belongs in each container

The bundled service collects garbage weekly, mixed recycling and glass with batteries every other week, and for addresses inside the Metro boundary yard debris and food scraps every other week. Recycling takes empty and dry paper, flattened cardboard, metal, plastic bottles, buckets, round containers and rigid plant pots two inches by two inches or larger, glass takes bottles and jars only, and batteries must have their ends taped except alkaline and go in a zip seal bag in the glass bin. Plastic bags, wires and cords, electronic devices, medical waste, non-empty aerosols, hazardous items, food and liquids never go in the recycling bin.

Washington County Solid Waste & Recycling with certificated collection companies and Metro transfer stations

Haul the load to a Metro transfer station

A household that can carry its own garbage, recycling, yard debris, appliances, electronics, mattresses or tires instead of paying a pick-up fee.

Cost & conditions
From $51 for minimum garbage charge for loads up to 240 pounds at Metro Central or Metro South, with heavier loads charged a proportion of the per ton rate and a transaction fee on staffed public scales, while recyclables are free, metal appliances are free, coolant appliances are charged, up to four mattresses a customer a day are free and Oregon E-Cycles electronics are free up to seven items a day. Any household delivering its own load during public hours; all mixed waste generated in the Metro service area must go to a Metro-authorized facility.
Arrange it
Drive to Metro Central, 6161 NW 61st Ave in Portland, or Metro South, 2001 Washington St in Oregon City, both open to the general public 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily, sort the load before arrival, and cover it to avoid the uncovered load charge.

Vehicles and anything with a drive motor, asbestos containing material outside the small hazardous waste allowance, burned material and wildfire ash, flat and built-up roofing, loads of liquids, petroleum contaminated soil, radioactive metals and electric vehicle batteries are refused, and customers are responsible for anything they leave behind, so improper dumping can bring asbestos testing costs and substantial fines.

Taking it somewhere yourself?

West Haven-Sylvan households have two ways to self haul. The nearest public transfer stations are Metro Central at 6161 NW 61st Ave in Portland and Metro South at 2001 Washington St in Oregon City, both open to the general public 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily and both closed on the Fourth of July, Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year's days. Household hazardous waste is free at the co-located facilities, limited to 35 gallons a day, and is taken at Metro Central Monday to Saturday 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and at Metro South 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily. Washington County also lists other county drop-off sites, including Far West Recycling and Tualatin Valley Waste Recovery in Hillsboro, the Forest Grove Transfer Station, Pride Recycling Depot in Sherwood, and yard debris sites at Best Buy in Town, Grimms Fuel, Recology Organics and Woodco. Construction debris is different: all mixed waste generated in the Metro service area must go to a Metro-authorized facility, and using anything else requires a non-system licence. Before you book

A few things
worth knowing.

Construction debris removal, from choosing your item to pickup day in West Haven-Sylvan.

How much does construction debris removal cost in West Haven-Sylvan?

Pricing is per accepted item. A detached door is $99 as a single item, an ordinary toilet is $79, and a small bathroom vanity is $99. Larger vanities have their own choices. Select the listed items to see the exact combined price. These prices do not cover mixed rubble or loose building materials. Loading, transportation and disposal are included; applicable sales tax appears before payment.

Can I get same-day toilet or vanity pickup in West Haven-Sylvan?

Book by 2pm at your pickup address for same-day pickup, where available. Checkout shows the dates you can choose. Arrange disconnection, removal and the move outside first, then have the fixture ready by the time in your confirmation. We text you before arrival and provide pickup photos when it is done.

Will you disconnect a sink or take a door off its hinges?

The fixture must already be detached, disconnected and accessible outside at ground level. Arrange plumbing, electrical work, removal from walls or hinges, and indoor carrying before pickup. Dropcurb handles loading and haul-away from your outdoor pickup spot.

Can I add bags of drywall, tile or other demolition waste?

Mixed drywall, tile, concrete, lumber and demolition rubble are not accepted. This page offers pickup for the listed doors, toilets and bathroom vanities that are already removed. Do not book loose building materials as household trash bags or as an extra item. Arrange suitable disposal for those materials with your contractor or a debris specialist.

Can a door, toilet and vanity go in the same pickup?

Yes. Add each listed fixture separately and choose the correct vanity size. Each detached door panel counts as one item. The combined price appears before you book. Keep the fixtures together outside, separate from anything staying, and add a location photo on your order page.

Where does renovation debris go in West Haven-Sylvan?

To a Metro-authorized facility, which for a household usually means Metro Central in Portland or Metro South in Oregon City. All mixed waste generated in the Metro service area has to go to a Metro-authorized material recovery facility, and using anything else requires a non-system licence from Metro, which can bring civil penalties. At the scale, garbage is charged a minimum for loads up to 240 pounds and a per ton rate above that, clean separated wood has its own lower rate, and your collection company can supply a drop box for a large project.Official guidance
