Treadmill, walking pad or commercial model?
Household treadmill includes folding home models with a tall console. Choose Walking pad for a compact under-desk model, or Commercial treadmill for a large gym machine. All equipment opens those choices.
An exercise bike, elliptical or rower
Spin, upright, recumbent and air bikes all use Exercise bike, including Peloton and other brands. One elliptical includes its connected base, handles and pedals. Rowing machines and Pilates reformers have their own choices.
Weights, racks and benches
Add together the pounds of loose dumbbells, kettlebells, plates and barbells. Free weights are priced in 10 lb units, rounding the combined weight up. For example, 25 lb uses three units. Add a stand, rack or bench separately if it is going too.

City cost & eligibility
The county rate sheet lists example items by size and states that items not listed are billed the standard pick-up fee plus a cost per item based on size and material, so an exercise machine has a route but no published price and the collection company has to quote it.
When & how
Call the collection company that serves the address, describe the machine and its size, and book the bulky pickup for the bulky collection day. Nothing needs to be scheduled for a machine a household would rather break down and take to a Metro transfer station as weighed garbage.
Get it ready
Break the machine down as far as the manufacturer allows, remove the console and battery so the electronics can go to the free Oregon E-Cycles counter instead, tie down loose decks and handles, and keep the frame out of the recycling bin.

Cost & conditions
From $16 for flat pick-up fee for each urban collection inside the Metro boundary, or $32.00 for a rural address, with the published per item rate added on top and billed whether or not the items are set out at the agreed time. Washington County addresses in the unincorporated area served by a certificated collection company; the companies are Pride Disposal, Republic Services, Swatco Sanitary Service, Walker Garbage and Recycling Service and WM.
Arrange it
Call the company that serves the address for a cost estimate and to book the pickup, then set the items out on the bulky collection day, which may differ from the normal garbage day.
The pick-up fee applies regardless of how many items are set out and is billed even if the items are not on site, televisions and tires must never go in the garbage, reusable items should be donated first, and items not on the published list are billed by size and weight instead of a listed rate.
