Count each detached door panel separately. Have it removed from its hinges before pickup. A whole installed doorway or garage door is not the same item.
Toilets
Choose Toilet for an ordinary household toilet that has already been disconnected, drained and moved outside. Text a photo before booking if yours is broken or has loose sharp pieces.
Bathroom vanities
Choose the small, standard or large bathroom vanity that matches your sink cabinet. A makeup table has a separate choice. Plumbing disconnection and removal from the wall happen before pickup.

The city says plaster board, sheet rock, lumber, rocks, soil, cinder blocks and plumbing fixtures go to the transfer station at the Incinerator on 19th Street, and it offers two alternatives for a house clean-out or a large amount of material: rent a roll-off container from Public Works or hire a professional hauler from its published list.

The roll-off pricing sheet is an image with no readable rates, and the hauler list carries phone numbers only, so call Public Works on 717-412-4320 or one of the listed haulers to price the load before the work starts.
When & how
Construction material has no collection day. It goes to the transfer station at the Incinerator on 19th Street, into a rented roll-off, or with a private hauler, so the arrangement decides the timing rather than the city zone schedule.
Get it ready
Keep plaster board, sheet rock, lumber, rocks, soil, cinder blocks and plumbing fixtures out of the trash bin and out of the weekly bulk pile, because the city routes all of it separately. Sort any metal or reusable material out before the load goes, and confirm which of the three routes is taking it.
Containers and bulk go out the evening before the zone day
Every address in Harrisburg is served once a week on its own weekday zone, and the containers go to the appointed collection location the evening before that day. The city provides the standard trash and recycling containers, extra recycling bins are free, and questions about a container, its placement or an account go to the sanitation office on 717-412-4320.
