Match the dresser’s overall size. Add a separate dresser mirror as its own item if it is leaving too. Empty drawers and keep the belongings you want before moving the dresser outside.
Choose by construction, not height alone. A basic desk is different from a heavy desk with a substantial body. A tall, lightweight bookcase can still be a standard bookshelf. Empty it first.

Household furniture is named twice in the Town's own material, once as part of the trash debris definition and once in the collectible list, so a couch leaves on the garbage day in the separate trash pile without an appointment.
Mount Pleasant runs two collections on one day. The roll cart takes household garbage, and a separate trash pile takes bagged yard debris, tree limbs, appliances, metal and furniture. Everything is at the curb by 7 a.m., the piles are separated, and only town-issued carts are collected.
The handoff matters
Mount Pleasant issues one 90-gallon or one 65-gallon roll cart at no cost, with a second cart available for a fee through Public Services, and only two carts are allowed per property. The cart has to be at the curb by 7 a.m. with the handles facing the house and comes back in within 12 hours of collection. What goes inside is household garbage, cardboard boxes broken down and put in the cart rather than beside it, and residential medical waste, and sharps must be in a sharps container or a heavy plastic or metal container that is puncture resistant, tightly lidded, marked not recyclable, no more than three quarters full and never glass. Landscape and construction material in the cart stops the garbage from being collected at all, and a container that is not town issued is not collected.
Town garbage page with the weekly collection and 7 a.m. roll cart rule, the handles toward the house and 12 hour removal rules, the free 90 or 65 gallon cart with a 70 dollar second cart and the two cart limit, the collectible items including cardboard inside the cart and residential medical waste, the refusal of landscape and construction material and non town carts, the prescription take back site and the mercury warning for compact fluorescent bulbsThe garbage truck and the trash trucks run on the same day, and different trucks take different materials because the yard debris goes for composting while the rest is disposed of differently. That is why the Town asks residents to separate the piles: bagged leaves and grass clippings in brown paper yard bags in one pile, brush and tree limbs at 4 feet or shorter and 8 inches or less in diameter with no stumps, and household appliances, metal items and furniture in another. Landfills do not accept yard debris in plastic bags, plastic bags are not accepted in the cart either, and debris goes on the road by the curb rather than on the lawn, manholes or storm drains, at a safe distance from utilities without blocking the road.

Hazardous material such as old pesticides and creosote materials, used oil, batteries and wet paint are refused, with oil going to the Town's maintenance facility on Sweetgrass Basket Parkway at no more than 5 gallons a visit and paint and chemicals going to the county's Awendaw Convenience Center or Bees Ferry Landfill. Compact fluorescent bulbs may not go in the garbage or trash because of mercury and are taken unbroken to a county convenience centre or a store collection bin. Propane tanks go back where they were purchased or to a hazardous waste collection day, never into a cart.

Before you book
Furniture removal, from choosing your item to pickup day in Mount Pleasant.
Choose the type and size of each piece to see its price. For example, a medium dresser is $79 as the first item or $29 as an additional item. Your total starts with the highest first-item price in your selection, then uses the additional-item price for every other item. Review the complete total and any applicable tax before payment.
Book by 2pm at your pickup address for same-day pickup and choose from the dates shown at checkout. Arrange to have the furniture outside according to your confirmation. You receive a text when your hauler is on the way and photos after collection.
Dropcurb starts outside. You arrange indoor carrying, including any interior stairs or elevator trip. We load and take away the furniture from an accessible outdoor location. Check your building’s rules and plan the route out before booking.
Yes. Add each piece and its quantity to one booking. A dining table and four chairs are five items; a separate mirror is not included with a dresser. You can mix eligible items from different rooms and review their combined total before paying.
You arrange any disassembly needed to move the furniture out of your home and into an accessible outdoor pickup spot. Dropcurb does not provide indoor disassembly or carrying. If you are unsure which catalog choice matches a dismantled or unusual piece, send a photo and ask before booking.
Yes. Household furniture is named in the Town's trash debris definition and in the collectible list, and the trash pile is collected on the same day as the garbage, so a couch goes to the curb by 7 a.m. on the garbage day with no appointment. Keep it in a separate pile from the bagged yard debris, on the road by the curb rather than on the lawn, and consider one of the reuse organisations the Town names first.Official guidance
Bagged yard debris in brown paper yard bags, brush and tree limbs at 4 feet or shorter and no larger than 8 inches in diameter with no stumps, household appliances and metal items, and household furniture and other non-food items that cannot be donated or recycled. Everything goes to the curb by 7 a.m. on the garbage day in separate piles, and the Town refuses e-waste, tires, batteries, wet paint, hazardous materials, bricks, concrete and contractor-generated debris.Official guidance
The Town's Public Services Department collects both the garbage and the trash pile through its Waste Management Division, on the same day each week, with everything at the curb by 7 a.m. Curbside recycling is a different arrangement: Charleston County collects it every other week and runs the drop sites in the Town. The Public Services Department is at 1351 Sweetgrass Basket Parkway on 843-849-2022, open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.Official guidance
Only town-issued roll carts. The Town issues one 90-gallon or one 65-gallon cart at no cost, a second cart costs $70 through the Public Services Department, and only two carts are allowed per property, with garbage in any other container left behind. Carts go to the curb by 7 a.m. with the handles facing the house and come back in within 12 hours. Landscape and construction material placed in a cart stops the garbage from being collected at all.Official guidance
Loose leaves and grass clippings go in brown paper yard bags, because the Town requires paper bags for loose yard debris and landfills do not accept yard debris in plastic bags. Brush and tree limbs go in the same pile cut to 4 feet or shorter and no larger than 8 inches in diameter, and stumps are never collected. Yard debris stays in its own pile, separate from appliances, metal items, furniture and the roll cart, because different trucks take the materials to different places.Official guidance
