Get it ready
Take the piece down as far as it will go so the pile stays compact, and keep furniture out of the carts. Fence sections are accepted in the same pile, but construction debris is not, so keep project material separate for the landfill route.
Carts out by 7 a.m., never more than a night early
Carts go to the curb or the alley by 7 a.m. on the collection day and may be set out no earlier than 6 p.m. or one hour before sunset the night before, whichever comes first. Everything has to be inside the cart with the lid closed, and material left beside or on top of the cart is not collected.
The monthly bulk and brush pile goes to the curb by 7 a.m. on the Monday morning of the collection week and may be placed out as early as the Friday before, with earlier placement risking a code violation. The hauler may collect the pile on any day of that week, so it stays out until it is taken.
