Ready for it to go

The old sofa can stop holding up your plans.

You know it needs to go. The price, the pickup day and knowing it is done should be easy to settle, too.

A replacement is on the way.

Give the old couch its own pickup day. Check what your retailer will remove, then book the part you still need handled.

The move has enough moving parts.

See the price before you book and choose from the available dates. One less job to arrange before handing back the keys.

You are ready for the space back.

You do not need a whole room to clear. Book the sofa, recliner or sectional that needs to go, and follow the pickup through updates and photos.

The right sofa. The right price.

Count the sections, not the cushions.

A loveseat, a sleeper and a sectional can look similar in a photo. Match the shape and features so your online price covers what is actually going.

Three structural sectional modules slightly separated, with all cushions remaining on their bases.
This example has three structural sections. The cushions do not add to the count.

A straight sofa or loveseat

Choose Standard sofa for fixed seats with no pull-out bed or reclining mechanism. One whole sofa is one item.

A sectional

Count its structural sections, not the loose cushions. Choose the piece count, then check for a sleeper or reclining feature. One sectional booking covers the configuration you select.

A pull-out bed or reclining seats

Choose Sleeper sofa or Reclining sofa for those mechanisms. A single reclining chair has its own Recliner choice. All sofa types also includes futons and sofas with a chaise.

Couches and household furniture

Accepted with preparation

Furniture is named in the bulky collection, and the community collection events take furniture in good and stable condition, while broken pieces have to go to the transfer station or a bulky booking.

City cost & eligibility
The bulky collection is included in the residential solid waste service with no published per item rate, and the events are free to register for but publish no fee, so confirm the terms with the hauler on 512-930-1715 or the city on 512-930-3640 as the case requires.
When & how
Book the bulky pickup for the scheduled collection day, or bring the piece to a community collection event on its published date. Nothing bulky goes to the curb more than 24 hours before a booked pickup.
Get it ready
Keep the piece whole and stable so it can be handled, because the events refuse broken furniture and household items not on their list, and those go to the transfer station or a booked bulky collection instead. Take cushions and loose parts off the frame before it goes out, and keep the load inside three cubic yards.
Bulky waste disposal: four scheduled collections a year, volume limit, freon removal fee, refusal list, transfer station drop off and reuse routesCommunity collection events: accepted mattresses, furniture, tires, electronics and metal appliances, with limits and refusals

Event loads follow the event list

The community collection events take mattresses and box springs, furniture in good condition, paper for shredding with a limit of three containers, tires with a limit of four per car, corded electronics, metal only lawn equipment and metal appliances. Hazardous waste, medical material, batteries, light bulbs, refrigerators, oxygen tanks and construction debris are turned away.

Scheduled bulky collection through the hauler

A city household with furniture, a mattress, a toilet, an appliance or carpet that will not fit the cart.

Cost & conditions
The bulky collection is part of the residential solid waste account and no per item rate is published, while an item needing freon removal carries an added fee, so confirm the booking and the charge with Texas Disposal Systems on 512-930-1715.
Arrange it
Call the hauler on 512-930-1715 to book one of the four annual collections, then set the material out on the scheduled collection day no more than 24 hours in advance, within a three cubic yard limit.

Four bookings a year and three cubic yards each. Tires, vehicle batteries, concrete and bricks, hazardous material and construction waste are refused, multifamily complexes are treated as commercial properties and are not offered curbside bulky pickup, and Tier III and Tier IV customers outside the city limits pay an added fee.

Community collection event for mattresses, tires and electronics

A household with a mattress, furniture in good condition, tires, electronics or metal appliances.

Cost & conditions
The event publishes no charge and registers participants rather than pricing items, so confirm the date and any terms with the city on 512-930-3640 before storing material for it.
Arrange it
Watch for the city's event announcement, register if required, and bring the load to the Georgetown Municipal Complex on Industrial Avenue during the published hours. Limits apply, including four tires per car and three paper containers for shredding.

The event takes only the listed material, so hazardous waste, medical material, batteries, light bulbs, refrigerators, oxygen tanks, construction debris and broken furniture are turned away. Refrigerators are refused even though other metal appliances are accepted.

Transfer station drop-off for bulky waste

A household with bulky material that cannot wait for a booking, or with project material the curbside service refuses.

Cost & conditions
Fees are assessed at the gatehouse and no rate is published, so confirm the current charge with the hauler on 512-930-1715 before loading.
Arrange it
Drive the load to 250 W.L. Walden Drive in Georgetown, open Monday to Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturday from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., closed on Sunday and on Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year's Day, and pay the assessed fee at the gate.

The station refuses electronics, medical waste, hazardous waste of any kind, dead animals and batteries, so those materials need the event routes instead.

Taking it somewhere yourself?

Self hauling in Georgetown means the transfer station at 250 W.L. Walden Drive, open Monday to Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturday from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., closed Sundays and on Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year's Day, where bulky waste is accepted for a fee assessed at the gatehouse. It refuses electronics, batteries, hazardous waste, medical waste and dead animals, so those materials need the event routes: electronics and tires go to one of the two community collection events a year, and chemicals, paint, oil, batteries, bulbs and propane go to one of the four household hazardous waste events, which need registration by 5 p.m. on the Friday before. Computer components can also go to Goodwill in Georgetown, and clothing, housewares and furniture can be reused through the Caring Place or Goodwill. Anything that will fit the bulky schedule is usually better booked with the hauler, because four curbside bulky collections a year are included in the residential solid waste account. Bulky waste for a fee, with the charge assessed at the gatehouse

Monday to Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Saturday from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., closed on Sunday and on Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day and New Year's Day.

Couch removal, from choosing your item to pickup day in Georgetown.

How much does couch removal cost in Georgetown?

A standard sofa is $79 as the first item and $29 additional. Sectionals, sleepers and reclining sofas have their own choices. Select everything that is going to see the combined price before booking. Loading, transportation and disposal are included; any applicable sales tax appears before payment.

Can you pick up my couch today?

Book by 2pm in the pickup address’s local time for same-day pickup. Available dates appear at checkout. Have the couch outside and accessible according to your confirmation. We send pickup updates and photos when it is done; the booking is for a day rather than an exact arrival time.

How do I book a sectional for removal?

Open Sectional in the sofa choices, count its structural sections, and select any sleeper or reclining feature. Count the sections with their own bases, not loose cushions. The matching catalog choice covers one complete sectional of that configuration. Text a photo before booking if you are unsure.

Will you carry my couch out of my apartment?

Dropcurb starts outside. Arrange for the sofa to be moved through the apartment and down interior stairs before pickup. We load and haul it away from an accessible outdoor spot. Arrange any dismantling needed to get it outside beforehand.

Do I need to wait at home for couch pickup?

You do not need to be home when your booked sofa is outside and accessible. Add photos and pickup-location notes to your order so the right pieces are easy to identify. We send updates and completion photos. Confirm any building access restrictions with us before booking.
