Choose the right items

One computer setup can be several items.

A separate monitor and tower count separately. Small devices and cables have their own box option. Choose what is actually leaving so your price matches the pickup.

Monitor, desktop or laptop.

Choose Computer monitor for each separate display. Desktop computer covers one tower or one all-in-one computer. A laptop is its own item. Add only the devices going.

Printer or office copier.

A printer with a built-in scanner belongs under Printer. A floor-standing copy machine belongs under Office copier. The shape matters more than the brand.

A box of smaller electronics.

Use Box of electronics for small devices, cables and chargers together in one box. For a large or heavy box, unusual contents or separate batteries, send a photo and confirm the fit before booking.

Televisions and electronic waste

Special rules apply

Televisions and other corded devices are taken at the community collection events, while the transfer station and the household hazardous waste events both refuse electronics.

City cost & eligibility
The community collection events publish no charge and register participants rather than pricing items, so confirm the date and any terms with the city on 512-930-3640 before storing a device for the event.
When & how
Hold the device for one of the two community collection events the city runs each year, which the bulky page confirms take electronics alongside tires, furniture and mattresses. Electronics are refused at the transfer station and at the hazardous waste events.
Get it ready
Wipe personal data before the device leaves the house, and keep it out of the trash and recycling carts. Computer components can also go to Goodwill in Georgetown, which the city names for resale or recycling, and the events destroy data before breaking components down.

City of Georgetown Utilities with Texas Disposal Systems as collection contractor

Community collection event for mattresses, tires and electronics

A household with a mattress, furniture in good condition, tires, electronics or metal appliances.

Cost & conditions
The event publishes no charge and registers participants rather than pricing items, so confirm the date and any terms with the city on 512-930-3640 before storing material for it.
Arrange it
Watch for the city's event announcement, register if required, and bring the load to the Georgetown Municipal Complex on Industrial Avenue during the published hours. Limits apply, including four tires per car and three paper containers for shredding.

The event takes only the listed material, so hazardous waste, medical material, batteries, light bulbs, refrigerators, oxygen tanks, construction debris and broken furniture are turned away. Refrigerators are refused even though other metal appliances are accepted.

Household hazardous waste event

A household with paint, gasoline, oil, batteries, pool chemicals, cleaners, aerosols or other chemicals that cannot go in the cart.

Cost & conditions
The event publishes no charge, so confirm the current registration terms with customer care on 512-930-3640 before the event.
Arrange it
Register for one of the four events a year, held in January, May, September and November at the Georgetown Municipal Complex on Industrial Avenue, and arrive with identification matching an active utility account, staying in the vehicle so staff can unload from the boot or back seat.

Registration closes at 5 p.m. on the Friday before, the event is limited to 500 cars, no trailers are allowed, and unknown or unmarked containers are refused. Electronics, tires, propane tanks larger than one pound, medical material, oxygen tanks, construction waste, explosives and radioactive or biological material are all turned away.

Taking it somewhere yourself?

Self hauling in Georgetown means the transfer station at 250 W.L. Walden Drive, open Monday to Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturday from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., closed Sundays and on Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year's Day, where bulky waste is accepted for a fee assessed at the gatehouse. It refuses electronics, batteries, hazardous waste, medical waste and dead animals, so those materials need the event routes: electronics and tires go to one of the two community collection events a year, and chemicals, paint, oil, batteries, bulbs and propane go to one of the four household hazardous waste events, which need registration by 5 p.m. on the Friday before. Computer components can also go to Goodwill in Georgetown, and clothing, housewares and furniture can be reused through the Caring Place or Goodwill. Anything that will fit the bulky schedule is usually better booked with the hauler, because four curbside bulky collections a year are included in the residential solid waste account. Before you book

A few things
worth knowing.

Electronics removal, from choosing your item to pickup day in Georgetown.

How much does electronics pickup cost in Georgetown?

A computer monitor is $79 as the first item and $19 as an additional item. Choose the actual devices and quantities to see your combined price online. A separate desktop tower and monitor are separate items. Loading, transportation and disposal are included; review the total and any applicable tax before payment.

Can you pick up old electronics today in Georgetown?

Book by 2pm at your pickup address for same-day pickup. Choose from the dates shown at checkout and have the prepared items outside according to your confirmation. We text you when your hauler is on the way and provide photos when the pickup is done. The booking is for a day, not an exact arrival time.

Does computer removal include my monitor and printer?

Desktop computer covers one tower or one all-in-one computer. Add a separate monitor, printer or laptop as its own item if it is going too. For small devices, cables and chargers together, choose Box of electronics and check the description before booking.

Do you erase data from old computers?

Data erasure and certified data destruction are not included in Dropcurb removal. Back up the information you need, then follow the manufacturer’s sign-out and reset instructions before pickup. If a device cannot be erased or contains sensitive business information, arrange suitable data handling before giving it away. Completion photos confirm the pickup, not data destruction.Official guidance

Can I book one box of old cables and small electronics?

Yes. Box of electronics is an existing option for small devices, cables and chargers together in one box. A monitor, desktop computer and printer each have their own item option. Send a photo before booking for a large or heavy box, unusual contents or separate batteries so we can confirm the fit.

Where do televisions and computers go in Georgetown?

To a community collection event, which takes electronics including tablets, phones, televisions and other devices with a cord, with data destroyed before components are recycled. The transfer station refuses electronics, and the household hazardous waste events refuse them as well, so the events are the published route.Official guidance

Can computer components go anywhere else?

Yes. The city names Goodwill in Georgetown, where computer components are resold or recycled, and the same page points clothing, housewares and furniture at the Caring Place or Goodwill for reuse.Official guidance
