Choose the right items

One computer setup can be several items.

A separate monitor and tower count separately. Small devices and cables have their own box option. Choose what is actually leaving so your price matches the pickup.

Monitor, desktop or laptop.

Choose Computer monitor for each separate display. Desktop computer covers one tower or one all-in-one computer. A laptop is its own item. Add only the devices going.

Printer or office copier.

A printer with a built-in scanner belongs under Printer. A floor-standing copy machine belongs under Office copier. The shape matters more than the brand.

A box of smaller electronics.

Use Box of electronics for small devices, cables and chargers together in one box. For a large or heavy box, unusual contents or separate batteries, send a photo and confirm the fit before booking.

Televisions and electronics

Special rules apply

Televisions are refused in the weekly collection, on the bulk pickup and at the city recycling center, so the city directs them to outside electronics programs.

City cost & eligibility
No city route takes a television: the weekly collection lists electronic devices as refused, the bulk pickup refuses televisions, and the recycling center refuses them too. The city names outside routes including Goodwill, Texas Recycles Computers, the EPA electronics resources and junk removal services, so confirm the acceptance and any charge with the receiving program.
When & how
By arrangement with the receiving program the city names, rather than on any city collection day.
Get it ready
Wipe personal data before the device changes hands and keep it out of the carts, the bulk pickup and the recycling center drop-off. Small rechargeable batteries and fluorescent bulbs are a different case and are accepted at the recycling center, while alkaline batteries are refused there.

One free bulk pickup a year, up to five cubic yards

Since January 2025 there is no spring cleanup week, and an in-city household may schedule one free bulk pickup in any calendar year by calling Republic Services on 512-255-4980 a week before its regular collection day. The load goes out by 7 a.m. on the day set and tops out at five cubic yards, with furniture, mattresses, scrap metal, trimmed lumber and non refrigerant appliances accepted, and refrigerant appliances, televisions, tires, paint, chemicals, brush and construction material refused.

What never goes in the cart

Appliances, every kind of battery, compressed gases, concrete, construction debris, dirt and rock, electronic devices, hazardous chemicals, loose brush and yard debris, propane tanks, stone and masonry, tires and wood or lumber are refused in the weekly collection. Most of them have a second route at the city drop-off or an outside program, while construction material has no city route at all.

City of Round Rock Utilities and Environmental Services with Republic Services

Deepwood Recycling Center drop-off

A household with glass, Styrofoam, a non refrigerant appliance, automotive fluids, rechargeable batteries, fluorescent bulbs, a propane tank or household hazardous waste.

Cost & conditions
The city publishes no fee for the recycling drop-off. The household hazardous waste window at the same site is free to City of Round Rock residents and voucher holders and carries a published charge for a non resident, payable by card or check, with material limited per month, so confirm the terms that apply to the load.
Arrange it
Bring the load to 310 Deepwood Drive during the center's opening hours, separated by material, and use the household hazardous waste window in its own afternoon slot if that is the load. Bring a licence and either a recent City water bill or a voucher for the hazardous waste service.

The center refuses refrigerant appliances, water softeners, televisions, alkaline batteries, tires, commercial oil and printer cartridges, and the hazardous waste window takes a limited volume per household per month.

Taking it somewhere yourself?

Round Rock puts most household material out with the regular truck and keeps two drop-off sites for the rest. Garbage runs weekly and recycling every other week, and the weekly allowance is the cart plus up to seven items inside the published weight and size limits, so bundled brush and bagged leaves usually ride along. For a real load, an in-city household schedules one free bulk pickup each calendar year, any time it likes, for up to five cubic yards of furniture, mattresses, scrap metal, trimmed lumber and non refrigerant appliances. Two categories fall outside those routes. Refrigerant appliances are refused by the weekly collection, the bulk pickup and the drop-off center, with the city naming the Hutto Recycling Center and junk removal instead, and televisions are refused by all three, with the city naming Goodwill, Texas Recycles Computers and the EPA resources. Everything else that the cart will not take belongs at the Deepwood Recycling Center at 310 Deepwood Drive, which takes glass, Styrofoam, non refrigerant appliances, automotive fluids, rechargeable batteries, fluorescent bulbs, propane and helium tanks and household hazardous waste, with the hazardous waste window running Tuesday through Saturday afternoons and free for city residents. The brush yard next door takes tree and shrub trimmings from residents who pay city taxes, up to two cubic yards free. Construction and demolition material has no city route at all, so a project load goes to a private hauler or container, and the city names the county landfill for dirt, backfill and lumber. Before you book

A few things
worth knowing.

Electronics removal, from choosing your item to pickup day in Round Rock.

How much does electronics pickup cost in Round Rock?

A computer monitor is $79 as the first item and $19 as an additional item. Choose the actual devices and quantities to see your combined price online. A separate desktop tower and monitor are separate items. Loading, transportation and disposal are included; review the total and any applicable tax before payment.

Can you pick up old electronics today in Round Rock?

Book by 2pm at your pickup address for same-day pickup. Choose from the dates shown at checkout and have the prepared items outside according to your confirmation. We text you when your hauler is on the way and provide photos when the pickup is done. The booking is for a day, not an exact arrival time.

Does computer removal include my monitor and printer?

Desktop computer covers one tower or one all-in-one computer. Add a separate monitor, printer or laptop as its own item if it is going too. For small devices, cables and chargers together, choose Box of electronics and check the description before booking.

Do you erase data from old computers?

Data erasure and certified data destruction are not included in Dropcurb removal. Back up the information you need, then follow the manufacturer’s sign-out and reset instructions before pickup. If a device cannot be erased or contains sensitive business information, arrange suitable data handling before giving it away. Completion photos confirm the pickup, not data destruction.Official guidance

Can I book one box of old cables and small electronics?

Yes. Box of electronics is an existing option for small devices, cables and chargers together in one box. A monitor, desktop computer and printer each have their own item option. Send a photo before booking for a large or heavy box, unusual contents or separate batteries so we can confirm the fit.

Where does a television go?

To an outside electronics program, because Round Rock refuses televisions in the weekly collection, on the bulk pickup and at the city recycling center. The city names Goodwill, Texas Recycles Computers, the EPA electronics resources and junk removal services, so confirm what the program takes before you load the car.Official guidance

Who collects the trash in Round Rock?

The City runs the program through its solid waste contractor Republic Services, which handles a bulk pickup booking on 512-255-4980, and the City's Utilities and Environmental Services department operates the drop-off sites and the household hazardous waste service and answers general questions on 512-218-5400. The utility billing office collects the monthly charge with the water bill.Official guidance

How do I find my pickup day?

The City publishes a collection day lookup, and the household page also lists the pickup day by address. Garbage runs every week and recycling every other week, both on the carts out before 7 a.m. rule, and the hauler closes only on Thanksgiving, Christmas Day and New Year's Day.Official guidance

What does the service cost?

Garbage and recycling appear as one line on the combined monthly utility bill, alongside water, wastewater and storm water, and the City publishes that line with the rest of its residential rates. Confirm the current amount on your own statement, because the figures are updated by rate year.Official guidance

What if I live in a municipal utility district?

The free annual bulk pickup belongs to a household whose water bill comes directly from the City, so a resident inside a municipal utility district is asked to contact the district and ask whether any cleanup events are scheduled there. The rest of the city services, including the drop-off center, still apply.Official guidance

What do I need to bring for household hazardous waste?

A driver's licence and either a recent City of Round Rock water bill or a voucher, and the load has to respect the monthly volume limit. Keep products in their original containers where possible, seal and label them, leave them out of bags, stand them in a box so a spill stays contained, and do not mix products together.Official guidance
