The local disposal guide
Round Rock collects garbage every week and recycling every other week on the same account, and it also runs two drop-off sites on the same street for the material the carts will not take. The weekly allowance is bigger than a single cart: the cart plus up to seven additional items, provided each item stays under the published weight and size limits, which is why bundled brush, bagged leaves and a couple of small pieces usually go out with the regular truck rather than waiting for anything else. For a genuine load, an in-city household schedules one free bulk pickup each calendar year, any time it likes since the old spring cleanup week was retired in January 2025, and the hauler takes up to five cubic yards that includes furniture, mattresses, scrap metal, trimmed lumber and non Freon appliances. Refrigerant appliances, televisions, tires, paint and construction material are refused on both the weekly route and the bulk pickup. The Deepwood Recycling Center at 310 Deepwood Drive is the city drop-off for the rest of it, taking glass, Styrofoam, non Freon appliances, automotive fluids, batteries and household hazardous waste, and the brush yard beside it takes tree and shrub trimmings free from residents who pay city taxes. Televisions are the one common item with no city route at all, so the city points those to outside electronics programs instead.

The handoff matters
Garbage runs weekly and recycling every other week, and the carts go to the curb before 7 a.m. on the pickup day, closed, three feet apart and with the wheels against the curb. The cart and the items outside it may be emptied by different trucks, so both finishes by 6:30 p.m., and a household that has not been collected by then contacts Republic Services on 512-255-4980.

An in-city household calls Republic Services on 512-255-4980 a week before its regular collection day and schedules one free bulk pickup for the calendar year, then places up to five cubic yards of accepted material neatly at the curb by 7 a.m. on the day set. The old spring cleanup week is gone, so the pickup can be used at any time of year, and a household in a municipal utility district asks its district instead.Official guidance
On the annual bulk pickup, because mattresses are named in the accepted list for that route and count inside the five cubic yard allowance. The City's recycling center also points to cutting the mattress down, the county landfill, and junk removal services for anyone who does not want to wait for a bulk date.Official guidance
Not on the bulk pickup and not to the city recycling center, because both refuse appliances that held refrigerant. The city names the Hutto Recycling Center and junk removal services for those units. An ordinary appliance such as a washer, dryer, stove, dishwasher or water heater goes either on the annual bulk pickup or to the recycling center.Official guidance
To an outside electronics program, because Round Rock refuses televisions in the weekly collection, on the bulk pickup and at the city recycling center. The city names Goodwill, Texas Recycles Computers, the EPA electronics resources and junk removal services, so confirm what the program takes before you load the car.Official guidance
The City runs the program through its solid waste contractor Republic Services, which handles a bulk pickup booking on 512-255-4980, and the City's Utilities and Environmental Services department operates the drop-off sites and the household hazardous waste service and answers general questions on 512-218-5400. The utility billing office collects the monthly charge with the water bill.Official guidance
The City publishes a collection day lookup, and the household page also lists the pickup day by address. Garbage runs every week and recycling every other week, both on the carts out before 7 a.m. rule, and the hauler closes only on Thanksgiving, Christmas Day and New Year's Day.Official guidance
Garbage and recycling appear as one line on the combined monthly utility bill, alongside water, wastewater and storm water, and the City publishes that line with the rest of its residential rates. Confirm the current amount on your own statement, because the figures are updated by rate year.Official guidance
The free annual bulk pickup belongs to a household whose water bill comes directly from the City, so a resident inside a municipal utility district is asked to contact the district and ask whether any cleanup events are scheduled there. The rest of the city services, including the drop-off center, still apply.Official guidance
A driver's licence and either a recent City of Round Rock water bill or a voucher, and the load has to respect the monthly volume limit. Keep products in their original containers where possible, seal and label them, leave them out of bags, stand them in a box so a spill stays contained, and do not mix products together.Official guidance
