Mattress & bed removal in HuttoCity collection Mattresses are not named in the city's bulk list, which names furniture, appliances, extra bags, yard clippings and tree trimmings, so a mattress has to be confirmed with the hauler before it goes out. The city publishes no mattress rule and instead links a general article about mattress disposal methods, so call Al Clawson Disposal at 512-930-5490 and confirm whether a mattress will be taken as bulk on your collection day or whether it needs a scheduled extra pickup.

The local disposal guide
Hutto bundles garbage, recycling, bulk waste and the street maintenance fee into one monthly utility charge, and the collection is performed by Al Clawson Disposal. Bulk is part of that bundle only on the larger container pairing, so a household on a 95 gallon trash container can put furniture, appliances and extra bags out with the regular service while a 65 gallon household cannot. The curb refuses televisions, construction material and hazardous waste outright, and each of those three has to leave by another route, whether that is a private electronics recycler, a private container for a project or the county hazardous waste events.

Hutto does not pick televisions up at the curb at all, and the city directs residents to an electronics recycling company for pickup or disposal instead.
Electronics are refused in the recycling container and no city collection route is published for them, so a computer or monitor has to go through a private recycler.
Construction materials are not picked up at the curb in Hutto, so a project load has to leave through a private container or hauler.
Exercise equipment is named nowhere on the city's garbage or recycling pages, so a treadmill or a home gym has to be confirmed with the hauler.
Aerosols, poisons, chemicals, paints, fuels, oil and oil filters may not go in either container, and the city points to Williamson County household hazardous waste events held twice a year.
The handoff matters
Garbage and recycling containers go to the curb with the lids closed by 6 a.m. on the assigned collection day, and city ordinance requires the containers to be off the curb by the next morning.
