You want to know it is handled.
When the next collection does not fit your plans, choose a Dropcurb pickup day. Updates keep you informed, and completion photos show when the booked items are gone.
A few simple choices turn a mixed pile into a clear booking. No need to estimate how much of a truck it might fill.
Filled bags and boxes
Count each trash bag or filled household box. Books and media go by the box. Clothes, bedding and shoes go by the filled bag. Toys packed together have a Box of toys choice. Ask us about unusually heavy or oversized bags and boxes first.
Empty cardboard and containers
Empty cardboard is a different choice: choose single empty boxes or tied bundles of 10 flattened boxes. Compacted bales have their own weight-based choices and require loading-dock access. A Storage bin choice covers the empty bin itself; ask us to confirm the contents if they are going too.
Furniture and other larger items
Add the actual larger item alongside your bags and boxes, such as a sofa, chair or mattress. It has its own price and preparation. Keep construction materials and items needing special handling out of ordinary household bags.

A mattress is not named on the League City heavy trash list, which names dryers, freezers, furniture, refrigerators, stoves, toilets, washing machines and yard waste. Because the category is unnamed, the piece has to be confirmed rather than counted against the two item allowance.
City cost & eligibility
No mattress rule or price is published, and the heavy trash service itself sits inside the residential contract, so confirm the piece with AmeriWaste on 281-585-3200 or the City trash hotline on 281-554-1100 before setting it out.
When & how
Call first, and if the mattress is accepted put it out with the heavy trash by 7 a.m. on the collection day and no earlier than 6 p.m. the evening before, at least 4 feet from other objects.
Get it ready
Keep the mattress out of the recycling cart, which takes the published paper, metal, glass and plastic streams only, and keep it clear of the yard waste pile, where bags and bundles are limited to six items per pickup. Anything that two people cannot safely lift is not collected.
Furniture is named on the heavy trash list and rides the free allowance of two items per collection day. The piece has to be at the curb by 7 a.m., at least 4 feet from other objects, and light enough for two people to lift.
City cost & eligibility
No charge. Heavy trash collection is part of the AmeriWaste residential contract, and furniture is on the named list, so up to two heavy trash items per collection day carry no separate charge. The only published residential figure is the monthly garbage rate of 21 dollars 69 cents including fees and sales tax.
When & how
Put the furniture at the curb by 7 a.m. on a collection day and no earlier than 6 p.m. the evening before. Trash runs twice a week by zone, and heavy trash is serviced on the collection days.
Get it ready
Keep each piece at least 4 feet from other objects so the truck can reach it, and keep the load inside the two item allowance per collection day. Anything that cannot be safely lifted by two people should not go out, and a load that includes construction waste will not be collected.
Dryers, stoves and washing machines are named on the heavy trash list, and refrigerators and freezers are named too but only once the refrigerant has been drained and the unit tagged. The appliance therefore rides the same two item allowance as furniture.
City cost & eligibility
No charge. Heavy trash is part of the AmeriWaste residential contract and appliances are on the named list, so up to two items per collection day carry no separate charge. The Freon removal work is the household's own cost and is not published by the City.
When & how
Put the appliance at the curb by 7 a.m. on the collection day, within the two item allowance and at least 4 feet from other objects. A refrigerator or freezer needs the refrigerant work done before that morning.
Get it ready
Have a licensed HVAC technician or plumber drain the refrigerant and affix a tag carrying the service provider's licence number and the date of service, because a unit that is not drained is refused. Separate a toilet into bowl and tank, and keep appliances out of the recycling cart and out of the yard waste pile.
League City's bulky route is called heavy trash and it runs on the collection days. A household may set out up to two heavy trash items per collection day, at the curb by 7 a.m., at least 4 feet from other objects and light enough for two people to lift.
City cost & eligibility
No charge. Heavy trash is part of the AmeriWaste residential contract and carries no separate charge, with the residential garbage rate published at 21 dollars 69 cents a month including fees and sales tax since May 1, 2025. A scheduled pickup for qualifying debris in a purchased dumpster bag carries its own fee.
When & how
Trash runs twice a week by zone and heavy trash is serviced on the collection days. Everything goes to the curb by 7 a.m. on the service day and no earlier than 6 p.m. the evening before, and collection happens any time between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m.
Get it ready
Keep the load to two heavy trash items per collection day, stay at least 4 feet from other objects, and keep construction waste, computers, televisions, microwaves and car parts out of the pile because the City refuses them. Yard waste goes out separately under its own rules, bagged or bundled, capped at six items per pickup and never including tree trunks or root balls.
Two trash days by zone and a curb window that starts the night before
League City runs three trash zones: the yellow zone on Mondays and Thursdays, the green zone on Tuesdays and Fridays and the blue zone on Wednesdays and Saturdays. Cans go to the curb by 7 a.m. on the service day and no earlier than 6 p.m. the night before, and collection can happen any time between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m., so the Town publishes a trash day rather than a trash time. Trash has to be inside a container of 55 gallons or less and everything inside the bin has to be bagged. Heavy trash is serviced on the collection days, and yard waste runs on both service days as well.
Heavy trash is the bulky route, and three numbers decide it. A household may place up to two heavy trash items at the curb per collection day. Each pile has to sit at least 4 feet from other objects so the truck can reach it. And nothing that cannot be safely lifted and placed on the truck by two people is accepted at all. Furniture, dryers, washing machines, stoves, toilets with the bowl and tank separated, refrigerators and freezers that have been drained of refrigerant, and yard waste are all on the list, while computers, televisions, microwaves, car parts and construction waste are refused.
The two streams that leave the curbside route entirely
Two groups never go out with the trash or the heavy trash. Electronics are hazardous under the City's rules, so televisions, computers and microwaves move through the household hazardous waste programme: a resident registers with AmeriWaste for one of four curbside pickups a year, restricted to televisions, electronics, microwaves and appliances, or takes the material to a spring or fall event at Hometown Heroes Park. Construction debris is the other exception, and it is the resident's own responsibility, because AmeriWaste does not collect it and the City requires it in roll-off containers disposed of at a Type IV landfill, with the AmeriWaste facility, nearby landfills and a fee-based dumpster bag pickup as the alternatives for smaller loads.
Use a permitted, accessible outdoor spot. Arrange the move out of your home, keep shared access clear and follow your confirmation’s readiness instructions. Check with your building about access or staging limits before booking.

A household with furniture, an appliance, a drained and tagged refrigerator or freezer, a toilet or a yard waste pile.
Cost & conditions
No charge. Heavy trash is part of the AmeriWaste residential contract and carries no separate charge, with the residential garbage rate published at 21 dollars 69 cents a month including fees and sales tax since May 1, 2025.
Arrange it
Set the items at the curb by 7 a.m. on a collection day and no earlier than 6 p.m. the evening before, up to two heavy trash items per collection day, at least 4 feet from other objects. Heavy trash is serviced on the collection days and yard waste on both service days.
Computers, televisions, microwaves, car parts and construction waste are refused as heavy trash, and anything that two people cannot safely lift is not collected. A refrigerator or freezer has to be drained of refrigerant by a licensed technician with a tag carrying the licence number and date of service attached, and gym equipment is accepted only when it is not extremely heavy or bulky. Yard waste is capped at six bags or bundles per pickup.

A few things worth knowing.
Bulk junk removal, from choosing your item to pickup day in League City.
How much does bulk junk removal cost in League City?+
A trash bag is $59 as the first item and $10 additional. A filled household box is $59 as the first item. Add your actual items and quantities to see the combined price before booking. Loading, transportation and disposal are included; any applicable sales tax is shown before payment.
Can you pick up bags of junk today?+
Book by 2pm in the pickup address’s local time for same-day pickup. Available dates appear at checkout. Have the booked bags and boxes outside and accessible according to your confirmation. You receive pickup updates and completion photos; the booking is for a day rather than an exact arrival time.
Do I count every object inside a bag or box?+
No. Count the filled bags or boxes using the matching choice. Books and media go in Filled household box; clothes, bedding and shoes go in Bag of clothes & bedding; packed toys have a Box of toys choice. Empty cardboard is separate, with individual empty boxes and bundles of 10 flattened boxes. Heavy, oversized or unusual contents need a photo review before booking.
Can you pick up a small loose pile of household junk?+
Yes. Estimate how many trash bags the small household pile would fill, and bag or box as much as possible. Select furniture and other larger items separately. There is no extra charge just because the pile is loose. Send a photo first if the count or contents are unclear. A household Dumpster Bag choice does not accept construction debris.
Can I book bags, boxes and furniture together?+
Yes. Select the bags and boxes, then add each larger item using its own catalog choice. The booking shows one combined price for the selected items. Move everything to an accessible outdoor spot before pickup; indoor carrying and sorting are not included. Keep anything you want to retain apart from the booked items and identify what goes in your photos and notes.
Will League City collect a mattress?+
A mattress is not named on the heavy trash list, which covers dryers, freezers, furniture, refrigerators, stoves, toilets, washing machines and yard waste, so confirm the piece with AmeriWaste on 281-585-3200 before setting it out. If it is accepted it goes out with the heavy trash by 7 a.m. on the collection day, at least 4 feet from other objects, and it cannot be something that two people cannot lift.Official guidance

The couch goes out by 7 a.m. on the collection day and no earlier than 6 p.m. the evening before, at least 4 feet from other objects, and it has to be something two people can safely lift. Construction waste, computers, televisions, microwaves and car parts will not be collected.Official guidance
