Couch & furniture removal in League CityCity collection Furniture is named on the heavy trash list and rides the free allowance of two items per collection day. The piece has to be at the curb by 7 a.m., at least 4 feet from other objects, and light enough for two people to lift. No charge. Heavy trash collection is part of the AmeriWaste residential contract, and furniture is on the named list, so up to two heavy trash items per collection day carry no separate charge. The only published residential figure is the monthly garbage rate of 21 dollars 69 cents including fees and sales tax.

Mattress & bed removal in League CityCity collection A mattress is not named on the League City heavy trash list, which names dryers, freezers, furniture, refrigerators, stoves, toilets, washing machines and yard waste. Because the category is unnamed, the piece has to be confirmed rather than counted against the two item allowance. No mattress rule or price is published, and the heavy trash service itself sits inside the residential contract, so confirm the piece with AmeriWaste on 281-585-3200 or the City trash hotline on 281-554-1100 before setting it out.

The local disposal guide
League City contracts the whole curbside programme to AmeriWaste and splits the town into three collection zones, with trash twice a week and a heavy trash allowance of two items on each collection day. Furniture, dryers, washing machines, stoves, refrigerators, freezers and toilets are all named on that heavy trash list, and freezers and refrigerators are accepted only once the refrigerant has been drained by a licensed technician and a tag carrying the licence number and service date is attached. Two groups are deliberately pushed out of the curbside route. Televisions, computers, microwaves and other electronics are treated as hazardous waste and move through a registration list for four curbside household hazardous waste pickups a year plus two spring and fall events at Hometown Heroes Park. Construction debris is the resident's own responsibility, handled with a roll-off container to a Type IV landfill, a monthly drop-off at the AmeriWaste facility, or a nearby landfill trip.

A mattress is not named on the League City heavy trash list, which names dryers, freezers, furniture, refrigerators, stoves, toilets, washing machines and yard waste. Because the category is unnamed, the piece has to be confirmed rather than counted against the two item allowance.
Furniture is named on the heavy trash list and rides the free allowance of two items per collection day. The piece has to be at the curb by 7 a.m., at least 4 feet from other objects, and light enough for two people to lift.
Dryers, stoves and washing machines are named on the heavy trash list, and refrigerators and freezers are named too but only once the refrigerant has been drained and the unit tagged. The appliance therefore rides the same two item allowance as furniture.
A refrigerant appliance is accepted only after the refrigerant is drained, and the City requires the work to be done by a licensed technician with a tag affixed. A unit that is not drained is refused, so the condition decides the whole route.
League City treats televisions, computers and microwaves as hazardous waste, so none of them may go out with the heavy trash. They move through the household hazardous waste programme instead, which means a registration list for the four curbside pickups a year and the two spring and fall events.
Construction debris is refused with the normal trash and refused as heavy trash, and the City puts the responsibility squarely on the resident. The published routes are a roll-off container to a Type IV landfill, a monthly drop-off at the AmeriWaste facility, a nearby landfill trip, or a dumpster bag pickup.
Gym equipment is named, but conditionally. The City lists it among the items heavy trash does not include when it is extremely heavy or bulky, and asks residents to call AmeriWaste about the specific machine before it goes out.
League City's bulky route is called heavy trash and it runs on the collection days. A household may set out up to two heavy trash items per collection day, at the curb by 7 a.m., at least 4 feet from other objects and light enough for two people to lift.
The handoff matters
League City runs three trash zones: the yellow zone on Mondays and Thursdays, the green zone on Tuesdays and Fridays and the blue zone on Wednesdays and Saturdays. Cans go to the curb by 7 a.m. on the service day and no earlier than 6 p.m. the night before, and collection can happen any time between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m., so the Town publishes a trash day rather than a trash time. Trash has to be inside a container of 55 gallons or less and everything inside the bin has to be bagged. Heavy trash is serviced on the collection days, and yard waste runs on both service days as well.
City garbage and recycling hub with the AmeriWaste contract and customer count, the three trash zones and their days, the 55 gallon receptacle limit and bagging rule, the 48 gallon recycling cart, the 7 a.m. and 6 p.m. set out window, the 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. collection window, the 2025 contract rate change and the hotline and hauler numbersYard waste page with the both service days schedule, the 4 foot clearance and two person lift test, the mandatory bagging rule with the 50 pound limit, the six bag or bundle per pickup cap, the bundle dimensions, the 300 pound limb limit, the refusal of tree trunks and root balls, and the construction waste exclusionHeavy trash is the bulky route, and three numbers decide it. A household may place up to two heavy trash items at the curb per collection day. Each pile has to sit at least 4 feet from other objects so the truck can reach it. And nothing that cannot be safely lifted and placed on the truck by two people is accepted at all. Furniture, dryers, washing machines, stoves, toilets with the bowl and tank separated, refrigerators and freezers that have been drained of refrigerant, and yard waste are all on the list, while computers, televisions, microwaves, car parts and construction waste are refused.
Heavy trash page with the two item per collection day allowance, the 4 foot clearance and two person lift test, the 7 a.m. and 6 p.m. window, the included list naming dryers, freezers, furniture, refrigerators, stoves, toilets, washing machines and yard waste, the refused list naming computers, construction waste, car parts, microwaves and televisions, the gym equipment condition and the licensed Freon removal and tagging requirementTwo groups never go out with the trash or the heavy trash. Electronics are hazardous under the City's rules, so televisions, computers and microwaves move through the household hazardous waste programme: a resident registers with AmeriWaste for one of four curbside pickups a year, restricted to televisions, electronics, microwaves and appliances, or takes the material to a spring or fall event at Hometown Heroes Park. Construction debris is the other exception, and it is the resident's own responsibility, because AmeriWaste does not collect it and the City requires it in roll-off containers disposed of at a Type IV landfill, with the AmeriWaste facility, nearby landfills and a fee-based dumpster bag pickup as the alternatives for smaller loads.

A mattress is not named on the heavy trash list, which covers dryers, freezers, furniture, refrigerators, stoves, toilets, washing machines and yard waste, so confirm the piece with AmeriWaste on 281-585-3200 before setting it out. If it is accepted it goes out with the heavy trash by 7 a.m. on the collection day, at least 4 feet from other objects, and it cannot be something that two people cannot lift.Official guidance
Yes. Furniture is named on the heavy trash list, and a household may place up to two heavy trash items at the curb per collection day. The couch goes out by 7 a.m. on the collection day and no earlier than 6 p.m. the evening before, at least 4 feet from other objects, and it has to be something two people can safely lift. Construction waste, computers, televisions, microwaves and car parts will not be collected.Official guidance
Through heavy trash. Dryers, refrigerators, stoves and washing machines are named on the list, along with freezers, and a household may set out up to two heavy trash items per collection day by 7 a.m. A refrigerator or freezer is accepted only after a licensed HVAC technician or plumber drains the refrigerant and a tag with the licence number and service date is attached, and a toilet has to go out with the bowl and tank separated.Official guidance
The refrigerant has to be drained first. League City requires a licensed HVAC technician or plumber to remove it and a tag bearing the service provider's licence number and the date of service to be affixed to the appliance, and freezers or refrigerators that have not been drained are named on the refused list. Once the tag is on, the unit goes out with the heavy trash by 7 a.m. on the collection day within the two item allowance.Official guidance
Not in the heavy trash, because the City treats televisions, computers and microwaves as hazardous waste. There are four curbside household hazardous waste pickups a year, restricted to televisions, electronics, microwaves and appliances, and a resident has to call AmeriWaste on 281-585-3200 inside the registration window to be added to the list. The two Hometown Heroes events on March 14 and September 12, 2026 take the broader hazardous material, and the Stella Roberts Recycling Center in Pearland takes televisions by appointment for a per set charge.Official guidance
Up to two heavy trash items per collection day, at the curb by 7 a.m. and no earlier than 6 p.m. the evening before, at least 4 feet from other objects and light enough for two people to lift. Furniture, dryers, washing machines, stoves, toilets, refrigerators and freezers are named on the list, with refrigerators and freezers conditional on the refrigerant being drained and tagged. Computers, televisions, microwaves, car parts and construction waste are refused.Official guidance
AmeriWaste League City, Inc. collects under contract with the City, serving more than 34,000 residential and commercial customers across three zones: yellow on Mondays and Thursdays, green on Tuesdays and Fridays and blue on Wednesdays and Saturdays. Trash goes out by 7 a.m. in a container of 55 gallons or less with everything inside bagged, and the City runs a trash hotline on 281-554-1100 with the hauler on 281-331-8400.Official guidance
Computers, televisions and microwaves are refused because the City treats them as hazardous waste, along with car parts and materials and construction waste. Heavy trash also refuses anything that two people cannot safely lift, and a refrigerator or freezer is refused unless a licensed technician has drained the refrigerant and attached a tag carrying the licence number and date of service. Yard waste is refused unless it is bagged or bundled within the six item limit.Official guidance
Only through the household hazardous waste route. Four curbside pickups run each year for televisions, electronics, microwaves and appliances, and a resident must call AmeriWaste on 281-585-3200 to be added to the list inside the registration window. In 2026 the pickups run January 12 to 17, May 11 to 16, July 13 to 18 and November 9 to 14, and the Hometown Heroes disposal events run March 14 and September 12 for the broader hazardous material.Official guidance
