The TV’s type and size determine which item to choose. A new model and an old model can use the same option if their shape and screen size match.
Flat-screen TVs
Measure the screen diagonally, corner to corner, without the frame. Choose under 42 inches or 42 inches and larger. A TV measuring exactly 42 inches belongs to the larger option.
Tube TVs
An older tube or CRT television has curved glass and a deep, heavy body. Choose Tube TV even if its screen is small. A rear-projection TV is different; send a photo before booking so we can check the fit.
TV stands and other electronics
The TV price covers the television. Add a media console, computer monitor or other item separately if it is going too. Choose only what you want removed and review the combined price.

League City treats televisions, computers and microwaves as hazardous waste, so none of them may go out with the heavy trash. They move through the household hazardous waste programme instead, which means a registration list for the four curbside pickups a year and the two spring and fall events.

Get it ready
Wipe personal data before handover, keep the device out of the heavy trash pile and the recycling cart, and keep other hazardous material out of the curbside electronics pickup, which is restricted to televisions, electronics, microwaves and appliances. Other chemicals have to wait for the spring or fall event.
League City's bulky route is called heavy trash and it runs on the collection days. A household may set out up to two heavy trash items per collection day, at the curb by 7 a.m., at least 4 feet from other objects and light enough for two people to lift.
City cost & eligibility
No charge. Heavy trash is part of the AmeriWaste residential contract and carries no separate charge, with the residential garbage rate published at 21 dollars 69 cents a month including fees and sales tax since May 1, 2025. A scheduled pickup for qualifying debris in a purchased dumpster bag carries its own fee.
When & how
Trash runs twice a week by zone and heavy trash is serviced on the collection days. Everything goes to the curb by 7 a.m. on the service day and no earlier than 6 p.m. the evening before, and collection happens any time between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m.
Get it ready
Keep the load to two heavy trash items per collection day, stay at least 4 feet from other objects, and keep construction waste, computers, televisions, microwaves and car parts out of the pile because the City refuses them. Yard waste goes out separately under its own rules, bagged or bundled, capped at six items per pickup and never including tree trunks or root balls.
Two trash days by zone and a curb window that starts the night before
League City runs three trash zones: the yellow zone on Mondays and Thursdays, the green zone on Tuesdays and Fridays and the blue zone on Wednesdays and Saturdays. Cans go to the curb by 7 a.m. on the service day and no earlier than 6 p.m. the night before, and collection can happen any time between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m., so the Town publishes a trash day rather than a trash time. Trash has to be inside a container of 55 gallons or less and everything inside the bin has to be bagged. Heavy trash is serviced on the collection days, and yard waste runs on both service days as well.
Heavy trash is the bulky route, and three numbers decide it. A household may place up to two heavy trash items at the curb per collection day. Each pile has to sit at least 4 feet from other objects so the truck can reach it. And nothing that cannot be safely lifted and placed on the truck by two people is accepted at all. Furniture, dryers, washing machines, stoves, toilets with the bowl and tank separated, refrigerators and freezers that have been drained of refrigerant, and yard waste are all on the list, while computers, televisions, microwaves, car parts and construction waste are refused.
The two streams that leave the curbside route entirely
Two groups never go out with the trash or the heavy trash. Electronics are hazardous under the City's rules, so televisions, computers and microwaves move through the household hazardous waste programme: a resident registers with AmeriWaste for one of four curbside pickups a year, restricted to televisions, electronics, microwaves and appliances, or takes the material to a spring or fall event at Hometown Heroes Park. Construction debris is the other exception, and it is the resident's own responsibility, because AmeriWaste does not collect it and the City requires it in roll-off containers disposed of at a Type IV landfill, with the AmeriWaste facility, nearby landfills and a fee-based dumpster bag pickup as the alternatives for smaller loads.
Use a permitted, accessible outdoor spot. Arrange the move out of your home, keep shared access clear and follow your confirmation’s readiness instructions. Check with your building about access or staging limits before booking.

The curbside pickups are restricted to televisions, electronics, microwaves and appliances, and every other hazardous material has to wait for a spring or fall event. This is a paid route for League City residents rather than a free one, the appointment has to be booked ahead, and material outside the accepted list has to be confirmed by phone. The facility is in Pearland rather than in League City, so the trip is a drive.
