Match the screen

Flat screen or tube? Start with the shape.

The TV’s type and size determine which item to choose. A new model and an old model can use the same option if their shape and screen size match.

Flat-screen TVs

Measure the screen diagonally, corner to corner, without the frame. Choose under 42 inches or 42 inches and larger. A TV measuring exactly 42 inches belongs to the larger option.

Tube TVs

An older tube or CRT television has curved glass and a deep, heavy body. Choose Tube TV even if its screen is small. A rear-projection TV is different; send a photo before booking so we can check the fit.

TV stands and other electronics

The TV price covers the television. Add a media console, computer monitor or other item separately if it is going too. Choose only what you want removed and review the combined price.

Televisions, computers and electronics

Accepted with preparation

Electronics are accepted at the city transfer station with the rest of the household material, and computers route to the state computer recycling programme.

City cost & eligibility
No charge. Free at the transfer station for Deer Park residents who show a current utility bill and driver's license as proof of residency.
When & how
Drop the devices at the transfer station on Old Underwood Road during posted hours, and check the day before travelling because the published Saturday hours differ between city pages.
Get it ready
Keep electronics out of the bagged rubbish and out of the single-stream recycling bin, which takes paper, cardboard, plastic bottles and metal cans only. The City routes computers and related equipment to the Texas Recycles Computers programme, and the transfer station refuses solvents and flammable liquids.

Heavy trash and oversized household items

Accepted with preparation

Heavy trash runs every Wednesday for yard waste, limbs, toys, small furniture and appliances, with the transfer station as the Saturday alternative.

City cost & eligibility
No charge. Included in the residential sanitation service, with no fee published for heavy trash or for the transfer station drop-off for residents who show a current utility bill and driver's license.
When & how
Items go behind the curb line by 8 a.m. on a Wednesday, and the remainder of a heavy week is finished by Friday. The transfer station takes heavy trash on Saturdays as well.
Get it ready
Cut tree limbs to four feet or less and under six inches in diameter and stack them neatly behind the curb. Bag all regular rubbish, because loose trash inside a container of any type is never collected, and tag an old trash can with a sign reading discard trash can if it is being thrown out.

Transfer station gate rules

The transfer station at 610 Old Underwood Road takes household and heavy trash, fencing, appliances, furniture, electronics and single-stream recyclables with no fee, but residents must show a current utility bill and driver's license. Large automotive parts, solvents and flammable liquids are refused, and any machine with a gas tank has to have it removed.

Oil rides the truck, chemicals need an appointment

Waste oil goes to the curb with the regular trash in a screw tight disposable container, and the truck drains it before compacting the empty container. Solvents, flammable liquids and other household chemicals cannot go in the bagged rubbish or to the transfer station, so they belong at the Harris County household hazardous waste facility by appointment.

City curbside rubbish service

Deer Park households that need regular household rubbish collected at the curb.

Cost & conditions
No charge. Included in the residential sanitation service for Deer Park addresses. No per bag or per pickup charge is published, and the City collects only bagged rubbish from the curb.
Arrange it
Bag everything, put it at the curb by 8 a.m. on the collection day for the address, and check the collection map for which of Monday, Tuesday, Thursday or Friday applies.

Trash inside a can is never collected, loose or unbagged rubbish stays put, and the 2026 holiday dates listed by the City interrupt the normal schedule.

Wednesday heavy trash pickup

Households with yard waste, limbs, toys, small furniture or appliances that will not fit in the bagged rubbish.

Cost & conditions
No charge. Included in the residential sanitation service, with the City noting that heavy trash runs weekly rather than monthly or quarterly.
Arrange it
Stack the material behind the curb line by 8 a.m. on Wednesday and keep it separate from the bagged rubbish.

Volume can push collection to Friday, limbs must be four feet or less and under six inches in diameter, a refrigerator needs its door removed or secured, and contractor job debris is not the City's responsibility.

Transfer station drop-off

Residents who would rather haul a load than wait for the Wednesday route, including fencing, appliances, furniture and electronics.

Cost & conditions
No charge. No fee to use the facility, with proof of residency required in the form of a current utility bill and driver's license.
Arrange it
Take the load to 610 Old Underwood Road during posted hours, and call 281-478-7213 to confirm the closing time because the Saturday hours are published differently on two city pages.

Large automotive parts, solvents and flammable liquids are refused, lawnmowers and similar machines need their gas tanks removed, and food waste, plastic bags and polystyrene are not accepted in the recycling drop-off.

Single-stream recycling drop-off

Residents with paper, cardboard, plastic bottles and metal cans to recycle in one bin.

Cost & conditions
No charge. Free at the transfer station for residents, with the same residency proof rules as the rest of the drop-off.
Arrange it
Bring the material to the transfer station at 610 Old Underwood Road and put it all in the single bin, since sorting is no longer required.

Food waste, plastic bags and polystyrene foam cups and containers are not acceptable, and improper material can ruin an entire load.

With a new purchase

Private scrap tire handlers

Households with used tires, which the City cannot collect or accept.

Cost & conditions
The City states plainly that it cannot dispose of used tires and points residents to the state environmental agency's list of active scrap tire handlers, where the price is set by the handler rather than by the City.
Arrange it
Use the state list to find an active handler in the area, then confirm the count, the size and the price before delivering the tires.

Tires cannot go in the bagged rubbish and the City offers no tire route, so illegal dumping rules apply to improper disposal.

Taking it somewhere yourself?

Deer Park households can haul their own loads to the city transfer station at 610 Old Underwood Road, which takes household and heavy trash, fencing, appliances, furniture, electronics and single-stream recyclables with no fee for residents who show a current utility bill and driver's license. Large automotive parts, solvents and flammable liquids are refused there, and lawnmowers are only accepted with the gas tank removed. Waste oil is collected at the curb with the regular trash in a screw tight disposable container, since the trucks carry an oil repository, while used tires have no city route at all and go to a private scrap tire handler from the state list. Household chemicals belong at the Harris County hazardous waste facility on Hahl Road in Houston, which works by appointment and serves county residents living outside the City of Houston jurisdiction. County household hazardous waste facility

Harris County Household Hazardous Waste Facility

6900 Hahl Road, Houston, TX 77040

Household chemicals and other hazardous household items used in the home, including solvents and flammable liquids that the Deer Park transfer station refuses.

Appointment only, and only items used in a resident's home for personal use are accepted. The facility serves Harris County residents who live outside the incorporated City of Houston jurisdiction and do not receive City of Houston services or pay City of Houston taxes.

Appointments on Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and on the second and fourth Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., with the facility closed during the Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year weeks and possible weather closures confirmed on 346-286-4294.

The appointment page publishes the eligibility: residents of Harris County who live outside the incorporated City of Houston limits may use the facility, and the county describes household hazardous waste collection as free to residents of unincorporated Harris County. Deer Park is an incorporated city that is not Houston, so confirm the charge for the address when booking the appointment.

Before you book

A few things
worth knowing.

TV removal, from choosing your item to pickup day in Deer Park.

How much does TV removal cost in Deer Park?

A flat-screen TV under 42 inches is $79 as the first item and $19 as an additional item. Larger flat screens and tube TVs have their own prices. Loading, transportation and disposal are included. Choose the type that matches your TV and review your total, including any applicable tax, before payment.

Can I get same-day TV pickup in Deer Park?

Book by 2pm at your pickup address for same-day pickup. Choose from the dates offered at checkout and have the TV outside according to your confirmation. We text you when your hauler is on the way and provide photos when the pickup is done.

Will Dropcurb remove my TV from the wall or carry it downstairs?

You arrange unmounting, disconnection and indoor carrying before pickup. Dropcurb starts at an accessible outdoor location, where we load your TV and take it away. If you need help removing a mounted TV or moving a heavy tube TV outside, arrange that separately before your pickup day.

Do you pick up old tube or CRT televisions?

Yes. Choose Tube TV for an older television with curved glass and a deep, heavy body. Its price is $249 as the first item and $249 as an additional item. A rear-projection television is a different item; send a photo before booking rather than choosing the tube-TV option.

Does my old TV have to work?

Your TV does not need to turn on for removal. Choose its type and size and arrange to have it outside before pickup. A non-working TV and a TV with exposed broken glass are different situations; send a photo of unusual damage so we can confirm the plan before you book.

Where does a Deer Park television go?

To the city transfer station at 610 Old Underwood Road, which accepts electronics along with appliances, furniture and fencing, free of charge to residents who bring a current utility bill and driver's license. Electronics do not belong in the bagged rubbish or the single-stream recycling bin.Official guidance

Is there a special route for old computers?

The City points computer and computer equipment recycling to the Texas Recycles Computers programme, while the transfer station accepts electronics as part of the household drop-off. Either route avoids putting the device in the bagged rubbish.Official guidance

How often does Deer Park collect heavy trash?

Every Wednesday, which the City notes is a weekly service rather than the monthly or quarterly programmes most cities run. When volume requires it, the remainder of the route is finished by Friday, and residents can also take heavy trash to the transfer station.Official guidance

What will the transfer station refuse?

Large automotive parts, solvents and flammable liquids are refused at the transfer station. Lawnmowers and similar items are accepted only with the gas tank removed, and single-stream recycling there takes paper, cardboard, plastic bottles and metal cans without food waste, plastic bags or polystyrene.Official guidance

What does Deer Park charge for trash and heavy trash pickup?

Both are included in the residential sanitation service, and the transfer station carries no fee for residents who bring a current utility bill and driver's license. Bagged rubbish runs twice a week on a Monday, Tuesday, Thursday or Friday route, and heavy trash runs every Wednesday, with the remainder finished by Friday when the volume is high.Official guidance

Why does Deer Park only collect bagged rubbish?

Because the City states that trash inside a can of any type is not collected. Everything goes out in bags by 8 a.m. on the collection day, and an old trash can being discarded needs a sign taped to it reading discard trash can.Official guidance

Can Deer Park collect used tires?

No. The City states that it cannot dispose of used tires and points residents to the state environmental agency's list of active scrap tire handlers, who set their own prices. Tires never go in the bagged rubbish, and illegal dumping rules apply.Official guidance
