The local disposal guide
Deer Park runs its own sanitation division, and the curb does most of the work. Regular household rubbish has to be bagged and goes out twice a week on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday or Friday, while every Wednesday is reserved for heavy trash: yard waste, tree limbs cut to four feet and under six inches thick, toys, small furniture and appliances, all behind the curb line by 8 a.m. A refrigerator only goes out with the door removed or taped shut. For everything else, the city transfer station on Old Underwood Road takes fencing, appliances, furniture, electronics and single-stream recyclables with no fee for residents who show a utility bill and driver's license, while household chemicals go to the Harris County facility by appointment and scrap tires go to private handlers on the state list.
