Match the screen

Flat screen or tube? Start with the shape.

The TV’s type and size determine which item to choose. A new model and an old model can use the same option if their shape and screen size match.

Flat-screen TVs

Measure the screen diagonally, corner to corner, without the frame. Choose under 42 inches or 42 inches and larger. A TV measuring exactly 42 inches belongs to the larger option.

Tube TVs

An older tube or CRT television has curved glass and a deep, heavy body. Choose Tube TV even if its screen is small. A rear-projection TV is different; send a photo before booking so we can check the fit.

TV stands and other electronics

The TV price covers the television. Add a media console, computer monitor or other item separately if it is going too. Choose only what you want removed and review the combined price.

Ready for pickup

Ready outside. Taken from there.

Your TV can stay inside while you book. Before pickup, arrange to have it disconnected, taken down if mounted and moved to an accessible outdoor spot.

A pickup day is not an exact arrival appointment. If your building allows only a short loading window, contact us before booking to confirm a workable plan.

Your place. One easy pickup plan.

A house, a condo or an apartment. Choose an accessible outdoor spot that works for your property. You arrange the move outside; we take it from there.

Text us about your setup
  1. Arrange any unmounting first.

Dropcurb does not remove TVs from walls or do indoor carrying. Arrange the help you need before pickup day, including the trip down interior stairs or through an elevator.

  2. Choose a permitted outdoor spot.

Use a stable, accessible location with a clear path for loading. Keep the TV separate from anything staying. Check building rules before placing it in a shared pickup area.

  3. Show us the TV that is going.

Add a location photo and access notes after booking. Follow the readiness instructions in your confirmation. For exposed broken glass or unusual damage, send a photo and check with us before booking.

Television, monitor and computer

Special rules apply

Computers are scheduled through the sanitation department, while televisions sit on both the accepted and the refused Frontier bulk lists, so the route needs a confirmation call.

City cost & eligibility
No fee is published for the computer pickup, and the Frontier page lists televisions as accepted bulk while listing electronics and e-waste as refused on the same page, so call the sanitation department at 713-475-7884 to arrange the pickup and confirm how a television and a computer are handled for the address.
When & how
Computer and household hazardous waste pickups are booked by appointment with the sanitation department at 713-475-7884, and the Frontier bulk collection runs every two weeks by assigned service week.
Get it ready
Wipe the drive or remove the storage before handover, keep electronics out of the recycling cart, where the Frontier list refuses electronics, light bulbs and garden hoses, and do not put a device in the garbage cart.

Appliances, tires, computers and chemicals are scheduled, not curbside bulk

White goods and appliances, tires, e-waste and household hazardous waste are all refused in the curbside bulk service, so they are booked as pickups with the sanitation department at 713-475-7884, with hazardous material limited to ten gallons or fifty pounds per collection.

City of Pasadena Sanitation Division with Frontier Waste Solutions and the Pasadena municipal landfill

Scheduled appliance, tire, computer and chemical pickup

A household with an appliance, tires, a computer or household chemicals that the curbside bulk service refuses.

Cost & conditions
No per item rate is published for these pickups, so call the sanitation department at 713-475-7884 to book the collection and confirm any charge and the limits, including the ten gallon or fifty pound cap on hazardous material.
Arrange it
Call 713-475-7884 during the weekday office hours, which run from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. with lunch closed from noon to 1 p.m., and describe the appliance, tires, computer or chemicals so the pickup is booked correctly.

Hazardous waste is limited to ten gallons or fifty pounds per collection and refuses acids, ammunition, medical waste, explosives, fireworks, gasoline, kerosene, photographic chemicals, smoke detectors and business material, and any product in an old, leaking or rusted container is identified at collection and may be treated as general waste.

Taking it somewhere yourself?

Pasadena households can haul their own residential load to the municipal landfill at 550 Old Genoa-Red Bluff Road in Houston, which takes one load of up to two cubic yards a month free for a resident who brings a valid Texas driver licence and a current original Pasadena water bill with a matching address, no copies, with the load no higher than the top of a pickup truck frame and covered by a tarp, because an uncovered load costs ten dollars more. Anything over two cubic yards starts at a 140 dollar minimum charge, commercial refuse is not allowed under the residential allowance, the privilege expires 20 days from the water bill due date, and access requires an OSHA hard hat and safety vest that can be bought at the landfill. The landfill is open Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and Saturday from 7 to 10:30 a.m. For anything that should not be hauled, the city sanitation department schedules appliance, tire, computer and household hazardous waste pickups at 713-475-7884, with household chemicals limited to ten gallons or fifty pounds per collection. Before you book

A few things
worth knowing.

TV removal, from choosing your item to pickup day in Pasadena.

How much does TV removal cost in Pasadena?

A flat-screen TV under 42 inches is $79 as the first item and $19 as an additional item. Larger flat screens and tube TVs have their own prices. Loading, transportation and disposal are included. Choose the type that matches your TV and review your total, including any applicable tax, before payment.

Can I get same-day TV pickup in Pasadena?

Book by 2pm at your pickup address for same-day pickup. Choose from the dates offered at checkout and have the TV outside according to your confirmation. We text you when your hauler is on the way and provide photos when the pickup is done.

Will Dropcurb remove my TV from the wall or carry it downstairs?

You arrange unmounting, disconnection and indoor carrying before pickup. Dropcurb starts at an accessible outdoor location, where we load your TV and take it away. If you need help removing a mounted TV or moving a heavy tube TV outside, arrange that separately before your pickup day.

Do you pick up old tube or CRT televisions?

Yes. Choose Tube TV for an older television with curved glass and a deep, heavy body. Its price is $249 as the first item and $249 as an additional item. A rear-projection television is a different item; send a photo before booking rather than choosing the tube-TV option.

Does my old TV have to work?

Your TV does not need to turn on for removal. Choose its type and size and arrange to have it outside before pickup. A non-working TV and a TV with exposed broken glass are different situations; send a photo of unusual damage so we can confirm the plan before you book.

Where do Pasadena computers and televisions go?

Call the sanitation department at 713-475-7884 to make an appointment for a computer or household hazardous waste pickup, which the city recycling page sets out. Televisions are named on the Frontier accepted bulk list but electronics and e-waste are refused on the same page, so confirm the television when the appointment is booked.Official guidance

What belongs in the recycling cart?

Aluminium and steel cans, glass bottles and jars, cardboard and boxboard, newspapers, magazines, catalogs, phone books, junk mail and office paper, and plastic bottles and jugs labelled 1 and 2 with caps, placed loose rather than bagged. Plastic bags and packaging, styrofoam, food waste and liquids, yard waste, clothing, carpet and textiles, electronics, light bulbs, garden hoses, metal cookware, ceramics, dishes, mirrors and window glass are refused.Official guidance
