Get it ready

The Citizens Collection Station at 4100 Smith Road, the Citizens Convenience Center at 6400 W. Highway 80 and Butt's Recycling Center at 26 W. Industrial Loop take plastics numbered 1 and 2, paper, cardboard and aluminum, and the two citizen sites also take bulky items such as household furniture and mattresses, white goods such as stoves, water heaters, washers and dryers, and brush such as tree trimmings and yard trimmings. The citizen sites are reserved for City of Midland residents hauling household items or recyclables from their own single-family homes, commercial waste of any type is refused, anyone receiving payment to haul material from a residential site is refused, only single-axle trailer loads are accepted, landscapers and contractors are refused, and loads have to be secure. Butt's is open weekdays from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., and the two citizen sites run Tuesday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
