Watauga publishes no curbside or drop-off route for televisions and electronics. The hazardous waste program's accepted list does not include electronics, and the bulk drop-off list does not name them either.
City cost & eligibility
There is no published city electronics route and no published city electronics rate. Confirm with Frontier Waste Solutions at 888-854-2905 or Utility Billing at 817-514-5705 whether an electronics item can be scheduled, and note that the hazardous waste program refuses items it does not list.
When & how
Contact the City or the hauler before an electronics item is set out, because neither the weekly collection nor the hazardous waste program publishes an electronics route.
Get it ready
Keep electronics out of the trash cart, the recycling cart and the bulk pile, and remove personal data before the device leaves the house.
Hazardous waste, construction material and remodeling debris are not collected with the regular bulk items, and a construction or large brush load needs special arrangements with additional fees paid to the hauler.
Hazardous items go out on the doorstep or near the front of the house by 8 a.m. on the scheduled collection day and are collected between 8 a.m. and 6 p.m. Every item stays in its original labeled container except used motor oil and cooking oil, chemicals are never mixed, and small items fit in a box no larger than 20 by 14 by 14 inches.
Use a permitted, accessible outdoor spot. Arrange the move out of your home, keep shared access clear and follow your confirmation’s readiness instructions. Check with your building about access or staging limits before booking.
Watauga's self-haul option is Frontier's Justin hauling location and office at 805 Topeka Ave in Justin, open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., where a resident shows a valid ID and water bill and pays the published per cubic yard rate for a load limited to a pickup truck load or 3 cubic yards. That location takes brush and bulky household items such as furniture, a hot water heater, an old stove, rugs, toys and a mattress, and it refuses paint, aerosol cans, propane tanks, oils and fluids, batteries, tires, chemicals, fertilizers, and refrigerators or air conditioners containing Freon. The City also names the City of Denton Landfill at 1527 S. Mayhill Road, open Monday through Saturday from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m., where the resident pays the landfill directly. Household hazardous waste does not go to either site because the City runs a curbside pickup program instead, and tires are refused both by that program and by the drop-off location. Can you pick up old electronics today in Watauga?+

Data erasure and certified data destruction are not included in Dropcurb removal. Back up the information you need, then follow the manufacturer’s sign-out and reset instructions before pickup. If a device cannot be erased or contains sensitive business information, arrange suitable data handling before giving it away.
