Choose by the type of equipment. A brand name does not mean a different item, but a walking pad and a full treadmill do.
Treadmill, walking pad or commercial model?
Household treadmill includes folding home models with a tall console. Choose Walking pad for a compact under-desk model, or Commercial treadmill for a large gym machine. All equipment opens those choices.
An exercise bike, elliptical or rower
Spin, upright, recumbent and air bikes all use Exercise bike, including Peloton and other brands. One elliptical includes its connected base, handles and pedals. Rowing machines and Pilates reformers have their own choices.
Weights, racks and benches
Add together the pounds of loose dumbbells, kettlebells, plates and barbells. Free weights are priced in 10 lb units, rounding the combined weight up. For example, 25 lb uses three units. Add a stand, rack or bench separately if it is going too.

City cost & eligibility
Exercise equipment is not on the specialty curbside item list, and furniture is excluded from that service outright while the district reviews future furniture collection, so confirm the machine with the district on (385) 468-6325.
When & how
Call the district with the size and weight of the machine and ask whether it can ride a specialty collection, an appliance-style pickup or a covered voucher load.
Get it ready
Break the machine down as far as it comes apart, keep any loose weights together with the frame, and take the console or battery off so it can go to an electronics drop-off instead of a landfill load.
The district's specialty curbside collection is residential only, and the charge is a base pickup rate for the household plus a rate for each item selected. The base rate depends on where the property sits, with one rate for the Valley inside the district, a higher one for Canyon communities and a higher one again for out-of-district Valley addresses. Mattresses and box springs must be bagged before pickup or they will not be taken, tires are priced with or without a rim, and appliances cost more when they contain refrigerant.

Use the annual digital landfill voucher
A district resident who can haul a covered load of bulky household material to a participating landfill.
Cost & conditions
No charge. Residents inside the district service area using a car, SUV, pickup up to one ton or a hand-unloaded trailer, with a securely covered load, one voucher per eligible property each year subject to the program rules.
Arrange it
Complete the district's online voucher form for the chosen site, then present the digital or printed voucher at the gate at the Salt Lake Valley Landfill on 6030 W California Ave, the Trans-Jordan Landfill on 10473 S Bacchus Hwy or the Trans-Jordan Transfer Station at 8813 South 700 West in Sandy.
Trailers hauled by one-ton or larger trucks are charged the standard fee, the load must be securely covered, and mattresses, tires and refrigerant-containing units are not accepted with a voucher at all.

Dropcurb pickup starts outside. Arrange indoor carrying, stairs and any dismantling needed to get your equipment out before pickup. Check the moving instructions for your exact model and arrange suitable help. We load and haul away the equipment from an accessible outdoor spot.
Which option covers a Peloton, spin bike or recumbent bike?+
Choose Exercise bike for one stationary bike, including spin, upright, recumbent and air bikes. Peloton and other brands use the same stationary-bike choice. A treadmill, walking pad and outdoor bicycle are different items, so select their matching options.
How do I book free weights, a weight rack or a bench?+
Enter the combined weight in pounds for your dumbbells, kettlebells, plates and barbells. Booking rounds that total up to the next 10 lb unit: 25 lb uses three units. Stands, racks and benches are separate items and do not include the loose weights. Add each one that is going.
