The district states plainly that furniture is not accepted through specialty curbside collection while it reviews possible future furniture service, and no per item furniture price is published, so confirm the route with the district on (385) 468-6325 and ask whether a covered general load with the annual landfill voucher is the intended option.
When & how
Ask the district first. If a covered load is the route, request a digital landfill voucher from the district form and take it to a participating landfill during published hours; the voucher is one per eligible property each year and the load has to be covered.

Keep furniture out of the recycling can and out of the curbside garbage stream, cover any self-hauled load as Utah law requires, and remember that mattresses, tires and refrigerant-containing units cannot travel on a voucher, so a mattress or an appliance has its own paid route.
The district's specialty curbside collection is residential only, and the charge is a base pickup rate for the household plus a rate for each item selected. The base rate depends on where the property sits, with one rate for the Valley inside the district, a higher one for Canyon communities and a higher one again for out-of-district Valley addresses. Complete the district's online voucher form for the chosen site, then present the digital or printed voucher at the gate at the Salt Lake Valley Landfill on 6030 W California Ave, the Trans-Jordan Landfill on 10473 S Bacchus Hwy or the Trans-Jordan Transfer Station at 8813 South 700 West in Sandy.
Trailers hauled by one-ton or larger trucks are charged the standard fee, the load must be securely covered, and mattresses, tires and refrigerant-containing units are not accepted with a voucher at all.

The hazardous waste facility is open Monday to Saturday 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM; gate hours for voucher loads have to be confirmed with the landfill on 385-468-6370.
