From $10 per appliance through specialty curbside collection, with the higher per appliance rate applying to a unit that contains refrigerant and the lower rate to one that does not, each in addition to the base pickup rate for the household. Residential district customers booking a specialty curbside collection; appliances are not accepted through the landfill voucher when they contain refrigerant.

Get it ready
Empty and clean the unit, keep it out of the recycling can, and note that a unit holding refrigerant cannot ride a landfill voucher and is charged at the higher specialty rate instead.
The district's specialty curbside collection is residential only, and the charge is a base pickup rate for the household plus a rate for each item selected. The base rate depends on where the property sits, with one rate for the Valley inside the district, a higher one for Canyon communities and a higher one again for out-of-district Valley addresses. Mattresses and box springs must be bagged before pickup or they will not be taken, tires are priced with or without a rim, and appliances cost more when they contain refrigerant.
The district's digital landfill voucher waives the landfill fee for residents inside its service area, and it is requested from an online form and presented at the gate on a phone or as a printed copy. It is valid for cars, SUVs, pickups up to one ton and hand-unloaded trailers, with trailers hauled by one-ton or larger trucks ineligible, and every load has to be securely covered. Mattresses, tires and units containing refrigerant are excluded from the voucher, and the old central bulky waste drop-off events are closed or cancelled.
Hard-to-recycle items go to listed drop-offs, not cans
The district bars hazardous materials, batteries, electronics, paint, gasoline, antifreeze, pesticides, full aerosol cans, propane tanks, plastic bags and film, glass, tires, mattresses, textiles and pallets from curbside recycling. Paint and chemicals go to one of the three Salt Lake County household hazardous waste facilities, and electronics, computers and appliances go to a listed recycler such as Best Buy, METech Recycling, TAMS, Recycle Solutions or the county collection center at 8805 South 700 West.
Use a permitted, accessible outdoor spot. Arrange the move out of your home, keep shared access clear and follow your confirmation’s readiness instructions. Check with your building about access or staging limits before booking.

From $5 per item on top of the applicable base pickup rate for the household, starting with the lowest published item rate for a tire without a rim, with a tire with a rim at the higher rate, a mattress or box spring and a non-refrigerant appliance each on their own rate and an appliance containing refrigerant at the highest appliance rate. Residential district customers, with the base pickup rate set by service location; every mattress and box spring must be bagged before pickup.

Furniture is not accepted through this service, an additional trip for a missed set-out is charged separately, only residential customers can use it, and the base pickup rate applies on top of every item rate.

Household hazardous waste such as paint, solvents, stains and thinners, along with batteries, electronics, computers and appliances taken through the county household hazardous waste programme.
Residents are asked to call before visiting because hours, fees, accepted materials, quantity limits and preparation requirements can change, products should stay in their labelled containers and never be mixed, and hazardous material must not be placed in curbside garbage or recycling cans.

Can I book if the delivery company did not take my old appliance?+
Yes. Dropcurb pickup is separate from buying or installing a replacement, so you can book removal on its own. Select the old appliance, choose a pickup day and arrange for it to be disconnected and accessible outside. If your new delivery is still ahead, confirm the retailer’s haul-away arrangements before booking a separate pickup.

What does the monthly district service include?+
Weekly garbage and recycling collection, the annual fall leaf collection, the annual Christmas tree collection, a one-time moving box collection, free can repair and a seasonal container reservation when one is available. The district also offers additional subscription services such as glass recycling, a green waste subscription and extra cans, and limited mobility support through its Curbside Assist Program.
