The fall 2026 collection runs from September 21 into early November on the postcard schedule for each home, and items go out no sooner than seventy-two hours before the collection date.
Get it ready
Bag, box or bundle small loose items such as leaves and grass clippings, roll carpet and padding, cut green waste to four feet and eighteen inches in diameter with no sod, cut fencing, posts, lumber and scrap metal to four feet with scrap under fifty pounds, drain oil and gas from small equipment, remove propane tanks from grills, remove glass from furniture, and empty fifty five gallon drums with the tops off. Keep the pile two feet out from the gutter and clear of driveways.

The thirty cubic yard residential dumpster takes yard debris, building materials, household items including appliances, and furniture, while dirt, fill, concrete and roofing shingles may fill no more than one third of the container. $310 for for a thirty cubic yard dumpster delivered to a Sandy home for up to seventy two hours, with the City paying delivery and dumping charges. Each home may use the programme up to twice a year. A published transaction fee applies to card payments, and a published trip charge applies if the container cannot be collected on the scheduled day because it is overloaded or inaccessible.

Both requests go through Sandy City utility billing on 801-568-7110, and the cart weight limit stays at 225 pounds.
Arrange it
Call utility billing to add a cart or swap for the larger size, then keep material loose in the cart with the lid fully closed.

Only clean and dry accepted material belongs in the cart, recyclables are never bagged, and an overflowing cart is treated as a contamination and safety problem.
