The local disposal guide
Fredericksburg takes household trash and recycling at the curb, but appliances, furniture, mattresses and other bulk items are not acceptable there. The City sells a paid Special Pick Up for a minimum fee per load, limited to addresses inside the city limits, with the appointment and the fee settled before anything goes out and code enforcement behind that rule. The other route is the R-Board system: the Regional Landfill at Eskimo Hill takes furniture, mattresses, appliances, construction debris, tires, fluids and latex paint, while the Belman Road Convenience Center takes recycling, batteries, oil, cooking oil, appliances, scrap metal, small engines and electronics for residents who carry a coupon or an annual pass. Oil paint, gasoline, pesticides and other chemicals wait for the annual household hazardous waste day, which has already passed for 2026.
