Treadmill, walking pad or commercial model?
Household treadmill includes folding home models with a tall console. Choose Walking pad for a compact under-desk model, or Commercial treadmill for a large gym machine. All equipment opens those choices.
An exercise bike, elliptical or rower
Spin, upright, recumbent and air bikes all use Exercise bike, including Peloton and other brands. One elliptical includes its connected base, handles and pedals. Rowing machines and Pilates reformers have their own choices.
Weights, racks and benches
Add together the pounds of loose dumbbells, kettlebells, plates and barbells. Free weights are priced in 10 lb units, rounding the combined weight up. For example, 25 lb uses three units. Add a stand, rack or bench separately if it is going too.

Treadmills, ellipticals and weight machines are not named on the city bulk list and do not appear in the city code list of materials the city will not collect, so nothing published settles the question. Treat a machine as an unconfirmed item and get an answer before it goes to the curb.
City cost & eligibility
Hampton publishes no rate for exercise equipment. The Solid Waste Division and the 311 contact center answer at 3-1-1 in the city or 757-727-8311 from 7 a.m. to 11 p.m. seven days a week, so confirm acceptance and whether the machine counts as bulk before it is set out.
When & how
Call before the trash day you plan to use, then set the machine out with that week's bulk only if the city confirms it. Anything large enough to push the pile past the weekly allowance needs the city's answer first.
Get it ready
Describe the machine and its size when you call, and ask whether the motor and the electronics inside it change the answer. Keep it behind the curb with that week's bulk only after the city confirms the item.

No charge. Included with the city collection service for an address that receives weekly solid waste collection, up to ten cubic yards of bulk waste per service address each week, with no per-item charge published.
Arrange it
Put the items curbside in front of your own property on your regular trash day, no earlier than 3 p.m. the day before and no later than 7 a.m. on collection day.
Ten cubic yards of bulk waste a week. Trash in black plastic bags is not collected as bulk, yard waste has to stay separate, refrigerator doors and appliance refrigerant have to be handled first, and items the city does not list as bulk need a 311 answer before they go out.

Which option covers a Peloton, spin bike or recumbent bike?+
Choose Exercise bike for one stationary bike, including spin, upright, recumbent and air bikes. Peloton and other brands use the same stationary-bike choice. A treadmill, walking pad and outdoor bicycle are different items, so select their matching options.
