Match the screen

Flat screen or tube? Start with the shape.

The TV’s type and size determine which item to choose. A new model and an old model can use the same option if their shape and screen size match.

Flat-screen TVs

Measure the screen diagonally, corner to corner, without the frame. Choose under 42 inches or 42 inches and larger. A TV measuring exactly 42 inches belongs to the larger option.

Tube TVs

An older tube or CRT television has curved glass and a deep, heavy body. Choose Tube TV even if its screen is small. A rear-projection TV is different; send a photo before booking so we can check the fit.

TV stands and other electronics

The TV price covers the television. Add a media console, computer monitor or other item separately if it is going too. Choose only what you want removed and review the combined price.

  1. Arrange any unmounting first.

Dropcurb does not remove TVs from walls or do indoor carrying. Arrange the help you need before pickup day, including the trip down interior stairs or through an elevator.

  2. Choose a permitted outdoor spot.

Use a stable, accessible location with a clear path for loading. Keep the TV separate from anything staying. Check building rules before placing it in a shared pickup area.

  3. Show us the TV that is going.

Televisions, computers and electronics

Accepted with preparation

Electronics recycle free through the state E-Cycle Washington program at a registered collector, and the operator will also haul them from the curb.

City cost & eligibility
No charge. E-Cycle Washington is a free program for televisions, computers, laptops, monitors, tablets, e-readers and portable DVD players at registered collectors. Keyboards, printers, toner cartridges and cell phones are free at participating Best Buy and Staples stores. A haul from the curb is quoted separately by the operator.
When & how
Bring the covered item to a registered E-Cycle collector during its open hours, or book a curbside junk haul if you would rather not drive.
Get it ready
Wipe the personal data off phones, computers and smart televisions before anything changes hands. A location may reject a badly damaged item such as an old television with a broken cathode ray tube, so call ahead when the screen is cracked. Items outside the program can be looked up on the state hotline, and a television, computer or peripheral can also go out with the operator's junk haul for a quoted price.

The handoff matters

Right item.
Right place.

Book the haul, approve the estimate, then set the load out

The operator's curbside junk haul takes most items too big for the cart, including appliances, furniture, mattresses, electronics, remodeling debris and yard waste, and it charges no minimum. The steps are to send the online request or call (360) 734-3490, approve the estimate the operator sends back, and set the items out at the scheduled time. A hot tub has to be fully drained of water and chemicals before it goes out, and the estimate is worth doing before anything leaves the house because the price depends on the load and the address.

City of Bellingham, collected under contract by Sanitary Service Company (SSC), with the Whatcom County Disposal of Toxics facility for household chemicals and E-Cycle Washington for electronics

Book the curbside junk haul

A Bellingham household with a couch, mattress, appliance, television or another item too big for the cart.

Cost & conditions
The haul has no minimum charge and the rate is not published online because it depends on the load and the service address, so request the estimate on (360) 734-3490 and approve it before the items go out.
Arrange it
Send the online request or call the operator, approve the estimate, then set the items at the curb at the scheduled time where they can be reached safely.

Hazardous and dangerous waste is refused, and a hot tub has to be fully drained of water and chemicals. The operator names appliances, furniture, mattresses, electronics, remodeling debris and yard waste, and asks for the estimate to be approved before the load is placed.

With a new purchase

Drop the item at the private disposal operator

A household that would rather drive a load than book a haul, with an appliance, a mattress, clean wood, concrete, yard waste or an electronics item.

Cost & conditions
The operator publishes a per-item price list for appliances, mattresses and propane tanks and a weight-based price list with a minimum charge for garbage, clean wood, yard waste, dirt and sod, concrete and metal, and it reserves the right to change prices as markets move, so ask for the current figure at the scale before unloading.
Arrange it
Drive onto the scale at 4916 Labounty Drive in Ferndale and let the scale staff know what is in the load; the site is open seven days a week from seven thirty in the morning to five thirty in the afternoon.

The published prices are the operator's own rather than a city rate, the minimum charge applies to weight-based material, and the operator charges its normal rates for anything outside the free E-Cycle list.

Before you book

A few things
worth knowing.

TV removal, from choosing your item to pickup day in Bellingham.

How much does TV removal cost in Bellingham?

A flat-screen TV under 42 inches is $79 as the first item and $19 as an additional item. Larger flat screens and tube TVs have their own prices. Loading, transportation and disposal are included. Choose the type that matches your TV and review your total, including any applicable tax, before payment.

Can I get same-day TV pickup in Bellingham?

Book by 2pm at your pickup address for same-day pickup. Choose from the dates offered at checkout and have the TV outside according to your confirmation. We text you when your hauler is on the way and provide photos when the pickup is done.

Will Dropcurb remove my TV from the wall or carry it downstairs?

You arrange unmounting, disconnection and indoor carrying before pickup. Dropcurb starts at an accessible outdoor location, where we load your TV and take it away. If you need help removing a mounted TV or moving a heavy tube TV outside, arrange that separately before your pickup day.

Do you pick up old tube or CRT televisions?

Yes. Choose Tube TV for an older television with curved glass and a deep, heavy body. Its price is $249 as the first item and $249 as an additional item. A rear-projection television is a different item; send a photo before booking rather than choosing the tube-TV option.

Does my old TV have to work?

Your TV does not need to turn on for removal. Choose its type and size and arrange to have it outside before pickup. A non-working TV and a TV with exposed broken glass are different situations; send a photo of unusual damage so we can confirm the plan before you book.

Where do televisions and computers go in Bellingham?

The state E-Cycle Washington program recycles televisions, computers, laptops, monitors, tablets, e-readers and portable DVD players free of charge at registered collectors, and the City's own guide names a local collector in Ferndale that is registered for the program. Keyboards, printers, toner cartridges and cell phones are free at participating Best Buy and Staples stores, and anything outside the program can be looked up on the state hotline.Official guidance
