Match the screen

Flat screen or tube? Start with the shape.

The TV’s type and size determine which item to choose. A new model and an old model can use the same option if their shape and screen size match.

Flat-screen TVs

Measure the screen diagonally, corner to corner, without the frame. Choose under 42 inches or 42 inches and larger. A TV measuring exactly 42 inches belongs to the larger option.

Tube TVs

An older tube or CRT television has curved glass and a deep, heavy body. Choose Tube TV even if its screen is small. A rear-projection TV is different; send a photo before booking so we can check the fit.

TV stands and other electronics

The TV price covers the television. Add a media console, computer monitor or other item separately if it is going too. Choose only what you want removed and review the combined price.

Televisions, computers and electronics

Accepted with preparation

Electronics recycle free through the state E-Cycle Washington network, with a ten product limit, and the city adds its own e-waste and styrofoam collection events for Lynnwood residents, accepting flat screen televisions, computers and peripherals while refusing tube and projection televisions and CRT monitors.

City cost & eligibility
No charge. Free E-Cycle Washington recycling is available to Washington State residents and businesses with fewer than 50 employees for computers, monitors, televisions of all types and sizes, tablets, e-readers and portable DVD players, with a quantity limit of 10 accepted electronic products, and the city's own collection events are free to Lynnwood residents.
When & how
Drop devices at an E-Cycle Washington location any time using the state locator, or watch the city calendar for its e-waste and styrofoam events, which have run in January and June at the Lynnwood Operations and Maintenance Center, 20525 60th Ave W.
Get it ready
Bring clean electronics to the city event and remember what it refuses: tube and projection televisions, CRT monitors, large appliances, water heaters, barbecues, furniture, exercise equipment, air conditioning units, propane tanks, anything containing liquids or fuel, and batteries that are not lithium-ion. Flat screen televisions, computers, printers, scanners, networking gear, audio equipment, cell phones, cameras, lithium-ion laptop and UPS batteries and microwaves are all accepted.

Your hauler is set by your side of Highway 99

Garbage service is mandatory for every Lynnwood property owner, but the city is not a provider: curbside garbage, recycling and yard waste come from Waste Management NW east of Highway 99 on 1-800-592-9995 or Republic Services west of it on 425-778-0188, under state certificates with tariffs published by the state commission. Start, stop and service questions go to the provider, not the city.

The city events run on set dates and refuse a lot

Lynnwood runs its own collection events for residents only, generally an e-waste and styrofoam day in January and June, a shredding day in April and October, and a recycling event in March. The electronics event takes flat screen televisions, computers, printers, scanners, networking gear, audio equipment, cell phones, cameras, lithium-ion laptop and UPS batteries and microwaves, and refuses tube and projection televisions, CRT monitors, large appliances, water heaters, barbecues, furniture, exercise equipment, air conditioning units, propane tanks, anything with liquids or fuel, and batteries that are not lithium-ion.

Taking it somewhere yourself?

Lynnwood residents self haul to two county sites and one city event site. The Southwest Recycling and Transfer Station at 21311 61st Place West in Mountlake Terrace takes household garbage seven days a week at a flat minimum for loads under 360 pounds or a per ton rate above it, self hauled construction material such as brick, concrete, dirt, sod, sand, gravel and rocks as garbage only, and up to five passenger or pickup tires a day at the garbage rate. The county publishes a six foot and 25 square foot size rule for that station and does not list it among the sites that except household sofas, appliances, mattresses, doors, carpets and rugs, because that exception is published for the North County station in Arlington and the drop boxes, so confirm a piece that large at the scale house before the trip. The station refuses electronics, refrigerators, freezers, air conditioners, dehumidifiers, heat pumps, liquid waste and yard debris, so those streams split off separately: electronics go free to any E-Cycle Washington location with a ten item limit or to the city's own e-waste and styrofoam days at the Operations and Maintenance Center on 60th Ave W, and household chemicals go free to the county station at 3434 McDougall Avenue in Everett from Wednesday to Saturday. Every load has to be covered and secured, and the county charges a fee on an uncovered load at the gate. TV removal, from choosing your item to pickup day in Lynnwood.

How much does TV removal cost in Lynnwood?

A flat-screen TV under 42 inches is $79 as the first item and $19 as an additional item. Larger flat screens and tube TVs have their own prices. Loading, transportation and disposal are included. Will Dropcurb remove my TV from the wall or carry it downstairs?

You arrange unmounting, disconnection and indoor carrying before pickup. Dropcurb starts at an accessible outdoor location, where we load your TV and take it away. If you need help removing a mounted TV or moving a heavy tube TV outside, arrange that separately before your pickup day.

Do you pick up old tube or CRT televisions?

Yes. Choose Tube TV for an older television with curved glass and a deep, heavy body. Its price is $249 as the first item and $249 as an additional item. A rear-projection television is a different item; send a photo before booking rather than choosing the tube-TV option.

Does my old TV have to work?

Your TV does not need to turn on for removal. Choose its type and size and arrange to have it outside before pickup. A non-working TV and a TV with exposed broken glass are different situations; send a photo of unusual damage so we can confirm the plan before you book.
