Match the screen

Flat screen or tube? Start with the shape.

The TV’s type and size determine which item to choose. A new model and an old model can use the same option if their shape and screen size match.

Flat-screen TVs

Measure the screen diagonally, corner to corner, without the frame. Choose under 42 inches or 42 inches and larger. A TV measuring exactly 42 inches belongs to the larger option.

Tube TVs

An older tube or CRT television has curved glass and a deep, heavy body. Choose Tube TV even if its screen is small. A rear-projection TV is different; send a photo before booking so we can check the fit.

TV stands and other electronics

The TV price covers the television. Add a media console, computer monitor or other item separately if it is going too. Choose only what you want removed and review the combined price.

Televisions, computers and other electronics

Special rules apply

Televisions, computers, monitors, laptops, cell phones and tablets are banned from the garbage and refused at King County transfer stations, so screens and computers go to E-Cycle Washington for free while small electronics can ride the Recology special item program.

City cost & eligibility
No charge. Washington households, small businesses, charities, school districts and small governments using an E-Cycle Washington collection site, which recycles televisions, computers, laptops and monitors free under the state manufacturer program. Printers, keyboards, mice, toner cartridges and cell phones are free at Best Buy and Staples instead, and other electronics outside the program carry a fee.
When & how
Find an E-Cycle collection site by address or call 1-800-732-9253, or use the Recology special item recycling program for a small appliance or electronic item that measures two feet or less on each side and weighs under sixty pounds, placed on or beside the blue recycling cart on collection day.
Get it ready
Wipe your data or remove the drive before a computer leaves the house, keep televisions and computers out of both carts and out of the transfer station load, and check the size and weight before relying on the curbside special item program, which takes only two small items per pickup.

Bulky items and special items are booked, not left

Before you book

A few things
worth knowing.

TV removal, from choosing your item to pickup day in Shoreline.

How much does TV removal cost in Shoreline?

A flat-screen TV under 42 inches is $79 as the first item and $19 as an additional item. Larger flat screens and tube TVs have their own prices. Loading, transportation and disposal are included. Choose the type that matches your TV and review your total, including any applicable tax, before payment.

Can I get same-day TV pickup in Shoreline?

Book by 2pm at your pickup address for same-day pickup. Choose from the dates offered at checkout and have the TV outside according to your confirmation. We text you when your hauler is on the way and provide photos when the pickup is done.

Will Dropcurb remove my TV from the wall or carry it downstairs?

You arrange unmounting, disconnection and indoor carrying before pickup. Dropcurb starts at an accessible outdoor location, where we load your TV and take it away. If you need help removing a mounted TV or moving a heavy tube TV outside, arrange that separately before your pickup day.

Do you pick up old tube or CRT televisions?

Yes. Choose Tube TV for an older television with curved glass and a deep, heavy body. Its price is $249 as the first item and $249 as an additional item. A rear-projection television is a different item; send a photo before booking rather than choosing the tube-TV option.

Does my old TV have to work?

Your TV does not need to turn on for removal. Choose its type and size and arrange to have it outside before pickup. A non-working TV and a TV with exposed broken glass are different situations; send a photo of unusual damage so we can confirm the plan before you book.

Where do televisions and computers go in Shoreline?

To E-Cycle Washington. King County bars televisions, computers, monitors, laptops and cell phones from the garbage and refuses them at transfer stations, and the state program recycles televisions, computers, laptops and monitors free at authorized collection sites, with printers, keyboards, mice, toner cartridges and cell phones free at Best Buy and Staples. A small appliance or electronic item of two feet or less per side and under sixty pounds can go out on the blue cart through the Recology special item program instead.Official guidance
