Two priced routes. Recology collects a mattress or box spring as an on-call bulky item from the curb at the published per item rate for sofas, chairs, mattresses and box springs, booked on 206-763-4444 or online. The King County Shoreline station at 2300 N 165th Street recycles mattresses and box springs for a per item fee, which is the cheaper option if you can haul it, and the station is open every day with weekend hours from 8:30 a.m.Official guidance
Yes, as an on-call bulky collection. Recology publishes a per item rate for sofas, chairs, mattresses and box springs, collected from the same spot where your carts go, booked on 206-763-4444 or through the scheduling page. If you would rather haul it, the King County Shoreline station takes furniture as garbage by weight, and good quality furniture, framed mirrors and dressers can be offered to the Second Use collection area outside the station.Official guidance
Either route works. Recology collects white goods other than refrigerators and freezers as an on-call bulky item at a published per item rate, booked on 206-763-4444. The King County Shoreline station takes major appliances for recycling, and it refuses them as ordinary disposal with the single exception of a dishwasher that is at least half plastic, so tell staff at the gate that the appliance is for the recycling area rather than the garbage bay.Official guidance
To E-Cycle Washington. King County bars televisions, computers, monitors, laptops and cell phones from the garbage and refuses them at transfer stations, and the state program recycles televisions, computers, laptops and monitors free at authorized collection sites, with printers, keyboards, mice, toner cartridges and cell phones free at Best Buy and Staples. A small appliance or electronic item of two feet or less per side and under sixty pounds can go out on the blue cart through the Recology special item program instead.Official guidance
Household garbage by weight, furniture, mattresses and box springs for recycling at a per item fee, major appliances for recycling including refrigerant units at a per unit fee, up to four tires per customer in the tire bins, scrap metal, corrugated cardboard, clean wood, yard waste and ordinary recyclables, with recyclables free of charge. Televisions, computers and other electronics are refused, appliances are not accepted as ordinary disposal, and the county adds an unsecured load fee to a load that is not tied down.Official guidance
The Recology curbside on-call service is published per item, so a couch, chair, mattress or box spring has one listed rate, a refrigerator or freezer has a higher rate because of the refrigerant, and other white goods have their own figure, with service charges and disposal or recycling fees on top. Hauling to the King County station instead is priced by material and weight: mattress recycling and refrigerant appliances carry per item fees, recyclables are free, and a mixed load of household garbage pays a minimum up to a weight limit and a per ton rate above it. Confirm which route you are using before anything is set out.Official guidance
Recology King County handles the curbside service on 206-763-4444 or shoreline@recology.com, and a missed collection has to be reported within 24 hours so the material can be picked up on the next business day. The King County solid waste information line is 206-477-4466 for the Shoreline station and its rules, the station itself is on 2300 N 165th Street, and the Recology Store on Aurora Avenue takes hard to recycle items on 206-417-3877.Official guidance
