The island has its own free state electronics site. E-Recycle MI on SE 30th Street takes computers, monitors, laptops, DVD players and televisions at no charge, and the hauler's Issaquah store takes small electronics and appliances.
City cost & eligibility
No charge. Computers, monitors, laptops, DVD players and televisions at the on island E-Cycle Washington site, and small electronics and appliances in limited quantities at the hauler's Issaquah store for Recology residential customers. Equipment outside the state programme carries a fee at a Take it Back Network recycler.
When & how
E-Recycle MI is on the island at 7835 SE 30th Street and answers on 206-230-8188, while the Issaquah store opens Tuesday through Saturday 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. and is closed Monday.
Get it ready
Wipe personal data before the device changes hands, remove and tape any loose batteries, and keep televisions and computer equipment out of the garbage cart and out of the county garbage loads, where they are refused.
Televisions, computers, monitors, laptops and DVD players go to the free state electronics site on the island at E-Recycle MI, 7835 SE 30th Street. Batteries, light bulbs, styrofoam, textiles, hardcover books, small electronics and bicycles go to the hauler's Issaquah store, with battery terminals taped first, and the city thrift shop also hosts a battery box for dry cell, rechargeable and phone batteries. Cooking oil is collected curbside by request in a labeled clear jug of up to 3 gallons. Paint, solvents, pesticides and automotive fluids go to the free county hazardous waste site at Factoria.
Use a permitted, accessible outdoor spot. Arrange the move out of your home, keep shared access clear and follow your confirmation’s readiness instructions. Check with your building about access or staging limits before booking.
Donate usable goods and hand in batteries on the island
A household with clothes, furniture or decor that is still usable, or a bag of household batteries that should not be thrown away.

No charge. The city's thrift shop takes usable donated goods and hosts a battery recycling box inside its main entrance for dry cell single-use batteries, rechargeable batteries and cell phones.

Take usable goods and batteries to the thrift shop, keeping the batteries separate so they go into the recycling box rather than the donation pile.
The box takes household batteries and phones rather than loose damaged cells, and items that are not usable still belong in the bulky item route or a recycling event rather than the donation dock.

This is an electronics collection site rather than a garbage facility, so household garbage, yard waste, appliances and hazardous products are not taken, and large quantities or business loads should be confirmed on 206-230-8188 first.

The store takes limited quantities of the listed material rather than general junk, battery terminals have to be covered with clear packing tape or the batteries are refused, and non-customers pay a minimal fee that depends on the material.

Data erasure and certified data destruction are not included in Dropcurb removal. Back up the information you need, then follow the manufacturer’s sign-out and reset instructions before pickup. If a device cannot be erased or contains sensitive business information, arrange suitable data handling before giving it away.
