Book the unwanted bags and boxes left after packing. Choose an available pickup day before you hand back the keys, and arrange to have them outside.
You do not need a whole house of junk. Select the bags, boxes and larger items you actually have. Your combined price is shown online.

A few simple choices turn a mixed pile into a clear booking. No need to estimate how much of a truck it might fill.
Count each trash bag or filled household box. Books and media go by the box. Clothes, bedding and shoes go by the filled bag. Toys packed together have a Box of toys choice. Ask us about unusually heavy or oversized bags and boxes first.
Empty cardboard is a different choice: choose single empty boxes or tied bundles of 10 flattened boxes. Compacted bales have their own weight-based choices and require loading-dock access. A Storage bin choice covers the empty bin itself; ask us to confirm the contents if they are going too.
Add the actual larger item alongside your bags and boxes, such as a sofa, chair or mattress. It has its own price and preparation. Keep construction materials and items needing special handling out of ordinary household bags.

City residents with active Waste Connections garbage service get a free curbside bulky item pickup once each calendar year, covering up to five items that are too large or bulky for the garbage cart. Each item has to weigh less than 100 pounds.
Furniture is named in the commonly accepted group for the free bulky pickup, with sofas, chairs, tables, shelving and patio sets given as the examples. Carpets, rugs, mops and brooms sit in the household group beside it.
Mattresses are named in the furniture group on the free bulky pickup's accepted list, so bedding leaves on the same yearly allowance as a sofa. No separate mattress fee is published because the route is the free allowance.
Small appliances such as vacuums and lamps are on the bulky accepted list, and single-family households also get an annual one-time free appliance pickup as part of regular solid waste services. The city draws a sharp line between the two routes.
Items containing freon, including refrigerators, freezers and air conditioning units, are on the not accepted list for the free bulky pickup. The routes are the annual free appliance pickup arranged with the hauler, or a transfer station where the operator charges a special handling fee.
Electronic waste, including computers, televisions and cell phones, is on the not accepted list for the free bulky pickup. At the transfer stations the operator charges no special handling fee for televisions and monitors, but the disposal rate and transaction fee still apply.
Concrete and building construction and demolition materials are on the not accepted list for the free bulky pickup, so a project load goes to a transfer station where the operator publishes the disposal rates.
Recreation and exercise equipment is named on the accepted list for the free bulky pickup, with bicycles, treadmills and basketball hoops given as the examples. That makes exercise equipment one of the named items a household can use its yearly allowance for.
The handoff matters
The free bulky pickup is requested through the RecycleRight app or web tool by selecting the chair icon, choosing up to five items and a date, entering contact details, describing any other items and confirming the request. The confirmation email carries a link to change or cancel before the pickup day.
