The local disposal guide
Goodyear runs sanitation as a required city utility and contracts Waste Connections of Arizona to collect it. Trash and recycling containers go out weekly on the same day, and one monthly bulk pickup covers the large items that will not fit, with furniture and appliances exempt from the bulk size limits. The city's hazardous waste program follows a different calendar: curbside pickup is closed right now, the next scheduling window opens October 12, 2026, and until then residents use a contractor drop-off in Laveen.

No Goodyear page names a mattress. The piece is too large for the container, so the published route is the monthly bulk pickup, but the city has not stated a mattress rule.
Old appliances are named as bulk trash by the city, and appliances are exempt from the bulk size and bundle limits. The city also suggests asking the store to take the old unit when you buy a replacement.
The landfill sites refuse refrigerators, freezers and air conditioning units unless a certificate verifies that the refrigerant and the compressor were removed by a certified technician, and the city publishes no separate curbside rule for them.
Electronic waste is accepted at the Waste Connections Transfer Station and at the City of Glendale Municipal Landfill, with fees possible, and electronics never belong in the recycling container.
Flat panel televisions are electronic waste and can go to the listed sites, but the same sites state that CRT televisions and CRT monitors are not accepted.
Roofing, drywall, concrete and construction materials are refused at the curb in the bulk program, so a renovation load has to go to a listed site as a self-haul load.
Exercise equipment is not named by the city. It is neither furniture nor an appliance, so it has to fit the general bulk size limit and be safe for two employees to lift together.
The handoff matters
Put the tan garbage container and the green recycling container on the street with the wheels against the curb, no earlier than 6:00 p.m. the day before and no later than 6:00 a.m. on collection day, and bring them in by 6:00 a.m. the day after. Keep the containers about three feet apart and at least five feet from vehicles and other objects, bag and tie all garbage, leave recyclables loose, and keep the lids closed because the collection is automated.
Trash, recycling and bulk trash pickup servicesContainer sizes, fees and placementPut the pile in the street next to the curb, parallel to the street and in front of your property, clear of driveways, sidewalks, utility boxes, mailboxes, meters and landscaping. The city allows the pile out up to seven days before the bulk day but not after 6:00 a.m. on the collection day, and cleaning up small debris left after collection is the resident's job.
